So im new to this a friends are saying join this or that club,
Which is the best club to join? For mh of course
Cheers mark .

it all depends on how you want to use your motorhome. for me the camping & caravanning club is best for its weekend meets, its temporary holiday site which are very cheap and its large number of 5 van cs sites
caravan & motorhome club main club sites are better than the others but you pay a premium price

I’ve seen people mention THS ... what exactly are they and do you have to book? I like to be a bit more spontaneous :D.

Comments on one club is you can reserve a pitch and no penalty if you don’t use it ... result, sites booked up even when spaces. Not sure which club it is, mind.

the THS or temporary holiday sites are organised by the areas or interest groups. they are long running rallies, often on sports fields of schools and the like. generally you dont need to book ahead, but some tend to be very busy so the organisers ask for booking in the advert. cost tends to be from about £7 per night, but all the facilities available tend to be a water tap, somewhere to empty the toilet and a grass pitch. ths's are perfect for visiting an area at low cost

and you don't have to commit to the full duration, come and go as it suits you

This is a link to the Temporary Holiday Sites section of the Camping & Caravan Club online magazine....

https://www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk/magazine/outandaboutonline/

Im not sure but I suspect you may not be able to open them individually unless you log in as a member.

There won't be many listings at this time of year, but there are lots later in the year starting about Easter onwards.

I always think that there are lots more of them when the schools are off as the regular sites get fuller.

The ones in popular spots or covering popular events usually require prebooking but they all have contact details to speak to the organiser beforehand. We usually just turn up and pay.

You will find that quite a few venues are used regularly throughout the year by different regions. When you join the C&CC you are "allocated" to the local region to your home address but once a member, you can use any of the THS or Club Meets anywhere in the UK.

Which club you join can also be influenced by where you buy your house and motorhome insurance not sure if that is relevant in your case.

We are in both the Caravan and Motorhome Club and The Camping and Caravan ?Club. Mainly for their primal little CL’s (Certified Locations). We prefer to stay on these type of sites rather than the big sites. Often it’s us alone, which is bliss!

I see you live in Glasgow, don't bother with clubs, you are a member of the best holiday stay club in the whole of the UK.
Keep north of the border and there are hundreds of places to stop, paid or free its up to you, but no club to join.

Caravan and motorhome
 club

One of the reasons I left it. Neither are much use if you tour mainly abroad

Another vote for the Camping and caravan club.. I just have the digital membership.
We tend to use rallies and Temp holiday sites so that suits us well. The app they have "out and about" we find very handy..
Never used a campsite as yet....
