Being new to forums ect just stumbled across the Weeley festival site and the number of comments from those there, like myself, who have never come across other's who where.
Then went on the Bath festival site which I also went to and seeing the line up, Jesus the memories from both,I must say are blurred but great to see pics ect.

    Weeley near Clacton.
I didnt go but my mates borrowed my air tent. They pumped it up too much and it exploded so they slept under the canvas.
Swines never replaced it, just brought it back, packed. next time i went to use it, you can guess.

HUbby & I at the Weeley festival - slept overnight in the open air in a field full of hay bales - had a great time. Kids don't believe we were doing festivals back in the 70's !!

Wifey still has a Weeley t shirt somewhere, something about "stoning the first gnome" if memory serves me.
We had luxury, slept under a sheet of polythene!!!

I was around 14 and went with some mates. My mum and dad spent the weekend in Blackpool and I don't think they were happy with the newspaper headlines 'Blood bath at Weeley'!

Had the same from girlfriend now wife, s parents. I dropped her off about 02.00 on Monday morning, they were waiting up worried because of the news headlines. We only knew about the "bloodbath" when we read the newspaper. I do remember Ray Dorsey urging everyone to throw a certain group off the site though.
