Can anybody please give advice?

I live in Germany, next to Lake Constance. We tour around a lot of mainland Europe in our 6m MH, and I have no trouble finding places to stay in Germany, France or Spain where we spend the winter, but I know almost nothing about touring in England, the land of my birth which I left 41 years ago.

When we have been to England for short visits, we usually found pubs where we could spend single nights, but were not usually too fussy about location.

Now I want to visit the Duxford Battle of Britain airshow on September 21st and 22nd so I need to find somewhere to book in advance for 3 nights, with some means of getting to the airshow.

I cannot find anywhere within reasonable distance which not reserved for members of some sort of camping club. This is all very difficult for me because over here I just go to wherever I want and will almost always find somewhere nearby.

Are there any possibilities, or should I just give up on the idea of coming over in the MH?

This place is close and is open to non members. Butitmay be cheaper to join the CCC for a year £39 I think, and get discounted rate. You’d need to get a taxi to Duxford

The plume of feathers in Widdington, which is a very nice pub, allows MoHo’s to stay over if using the pub. Must be about 20mins drive away from duxford.

The pub is the fleur de lys in Widdington, and yes, it's a lovely old pub.(y)

Duxford car park is also a coach park, so you should have no problem getting in with your Moho. ( but not overnight). It is free.

Thanks to everyone for the info. Currently touring in Spain so I will look at the suggestions when time permits.

Not during the 3 main airshows in the year.
I think you may even need to apply in advance for permission for a large vehicle.
And get there at the crack of dawn to avoid the traffic chaos.

If you are going to the big shows, you might as well cycle or walk. The traffic is horrendous during them.
