Hi Folks

Daughter just recently moved to Birmingham and we would like to go see her in our new van. Anyone know of a DOG friendly place nearish to the city. NB definitely don't want to be driving about in the city tho. thank you

Thank you for adding the link. 'll speak to them tomorrow. cheers x

We're booked in here for a couple of nights in about a fortnight.

Looking forward to it. Seems a good option for access to the city.

Pleased to read your positive comments. 👍

We stayed here for the same reason. Daughter and her hubby did pick us up but an Uber back was less than £8.

Is it outside the LES area please?

Birmingham Massechusetts?🤗

Birmingham Massechusetts?🤗
Or maybe one if these

Birmingham, Alabama: A large city in Alabama.
Birmingham, Connecticut: Now known as Derby.
Birmingham, Indiana: An unincorporated community.
Birmingham, Iowa: A city.
Birmingham, Kentucky: A sunken town.
Birmingham, Michigan: A city.
Birmingham, Missouri: A village.
Birmingham, New Jersey: An unincorporated community.
Birmingham, Ohio: Multiple locations, including Coshocton County (ghost town), Erie County (unincorporated community), and Guernsey County (unincorporated community).
Birmingham, Pennsylvania: Multiple locations, including Chester County (township), Huntingdon County (borough), and the former name of Pittsburgh's South Side neighborhood.

Sticking with Birmingham West Midlands, what side of the city are you looking at? Not many sites in the area, a few cl's from various groups and a few pubs, all out from the city centre.

Would be handy to know which part of birmingham and what direction you are coming from..
Might be able to offer more options then. No point travelling to the south of Brum if your coming from Lancashire. (y)

I believe I'm wrong, although there are a good few in USA there isn't one in Massachusetts.
Just that you didn't say what area of Birmingham or what kind of site.

Very true, we are still to make our final booking but we will be coming in from the Hunstanton area and would like to be nearish Mosley (but they have a car so up to 20 miles away is okay) thank you

Nearest site to Mosely looks to be Cheedon Farm just North West of Hockley Heath. It's a ccc cs.I
Lyons boatyard is nearer though.

I drive from Moseley park to Becketts roundabout which is only a few hundred yards from the Chapel Lane site, it is about 6 miles and takes 20 minutes, it is busy normally. The dual carriageway from the M42 J3 to the site is pretty straight, first roundabout is Becketts Farm where you turn off for the site, it is signposted and takes a few minutes. For reference, the petrol station southbound has a gas pump.

Thank you. everyone actually. I'm so glad I'm a member.

If you do look at Chapel Lane C&MC site, just for information, Becketts Farm is a large complex of farm shops and food.
https://www.beckettsfarm.co.uk/ the restaurant is ok and you can book a table online.
On the A435 from the Becketts farm roundabout back to J3 M42, the Esso station is well stocked with items,
including Calor and LPG pump. TMD motorhomes are a few hundred metres further on.
On a weekend, the transport museum is open, this is next to the Chapel Lane site. https://www.wythall.org.uk/

We have just come home, and we did stay at chapel Lane and tried to go to becketts but sadly they don't take doggies, so we ended up athe rose and crown. quite expensive but nice!

We've just spent two nights at Lyons Boatyard. As you arrive it doesn't look too promising as the general area is a bit grotty and industrial, with quite a bit of fly tipping on the approach road.

The boatyard itself though is fine, if a bit rough around the edges. Secure locked compound with a key to allow pedestrian access to the yard out of hours.

£20 a night. Fresh water tap and elsan disposal. Has toilets and a shower. Shower takes £1 coins. EHU if you want it, charged by the KW/Hr.

Space for four motorhomes, two of which appear to be long termers. Best to phone up a bit in advance to secure a spot.

Number 50 bus stops 2 minutes walk away from the boatyard which goes directly into Birmingham city centre (and straight through the centre of Moseley).

Lidl and 24 hour petrol station 2 minutes walk away, and a canal-side pub another minute or two further.

Owner was friendly and helpful. We'd happily use it again.

Bit late as only seen this thread, during Covid we headed south and stayed the night outside Birmingham on a CL for £7pn. No hook up but stunning views, if you can’t find it I will have a look.
