... considering driving somewhere warm on the continent for Xmas/new year. Have dog so not keen on too long a drive. Any suggestions please? Also on the long ferry think you have to our dog in kennel ☹️

When I researched last winter seems that SE Spain was just about the only place. But that would involve a long drive or ferry.

You've got to go to the bottom of Spain for a chance of warmth at that time of year. But even with the long ferry it's a lengthy drive even then after you arrive.

If you are only planning to go for a short period I would question if it is worth the effort and expense.

Go to Cornwall instead and put on a coat. :)

Put the dog in kennels and fly away somewhere hot. Simples.

You’ll have to book a pitch for southern Spain, most sites are usually full for the whole winter period....

Plenty of room away from Costa Blanca and Costa del Sol..BUSBY.. :D :D

If considering coming to Spain or Portugal, using the ferry to Santander or Bilbao, you can get a dog friendly cabin, better if you ring to see if ones available. You may also get a discount code from a funster too. We can get from Santander to Central Portugal in one day. Last year we sat outside and had Christmas dinner, candles and all. It is a gamble like anything in life, but you can bet it will be warmer than UK. Can get frosts at night, but this means the days are lovely and warm.
