Hi,

As just said you can stop in the car parks during the day, we had no problem at all but if you want to stay overnight in the New Forest google "camping in the forest" and there are several sites in the new forest which seem to be run by camping and caravan club but open to non members (you can book online if you want.)

Not particularly cheap but there is hook up. We stayed at Setthorns which I thought was really nice and we even had wild dear and horses who would wander through the campsite which was pretty cute. With Setthorns there are no toilet or shower facilities so You are limited to your onboard facilities but I believe the other sites are more sophisticated.

Have a good trip

they are the GPS points you can put into your satnav. Extremely useful. I me certainly taking a copy and putting in my pois (points of interest)
That is top jonny banana info there

Please remeber guys, I drive a small PVC so can get into "compact parking spots". Some of those co ords would be a bit tight, and bumpy for "real" motorhomes :-)

excellent mate top notch I will use that for my satnav

Some of the campsites may be closed.
And some of the car parks get locked at night. There may be a lay by.
Try and visit Lymington, it's on the coast.

As mentioned above, there are loads of parking areas in the forest and many will take the larger Motorhomes as the gates are approx 9' wide. Be advised though if you want "camping in the forest" site to stay over night in, it is only Setthorns that is open all year.

I've found that off season, many of the parking areas that don't have barriers are OK to overnight on. I know it's "not allowed" but arrive late, park out of sight of the road, leave early and you're unlikely to be moved on...... and no, I'm not from Yorkshire :-)

Trouble is, as shown in other areas of the country, ignore the signs and do that and there is the risk of height barriers appearing.

If you want a SITE the "Centenary campsite" is a belter and you can ride your bikes from there into the forest trails.
It IS Caravan Club though..
Have a visit to "Bucklers Hard". Its where Nelson had his fleet done.
Mitch.

PS. GREAT info Geriatricwanderer.
