Got a meter here but can't see any more fuses coming direct of the engine battery. I've got one online fuse and 3 fuses in a block fixed to the engine compartment just above battery.Hi. Wish I could help, sounds like a big fuse close the battery but you have already checked them. You could check the the battery terminal connections themselves. Do you halve meter for checking voltages?
It's got an immobiliser but I can only activate that after ignition lights come on. There's no power getting to the dash at all right now.I'm no expert on Ducatos but as it seems pretty urgent .................could the action/interference when connecting jump leads have triggered the immobiliser (if you have one)?
I kinda understand that but kinda don't at the same time. Appreciate all help though.Put the meter into DC volts and test points leading away from the battery until it goes dead![]()
Getting a decent reading off the terminals. It's getting a contact to read from at the other places that's gonna be a problem. Is there any power at the battery terminals? Then test the fuse box thing on top of the battery, then perhaps the metal loop thing under the bonnet, then internal fuse box.
Oh dear, not a good trip then.Just pray my clutch lasts till home now
I know the feeling. I borrowed my FIL's hedge trimmer to cut my elderly neighbour's short hedge. The motor burned out after about 5 minutes and I had to buy him a new one.Well I'm on my way. Checked all fuses with a meter all OK. But at the back of the battery there's like a whole block connection that you can hardly see. Some connection on that was loose so I wiggled it about and heard a bit of life come back in to it.
So started and driving but it's still loosing power over bumps so I've pulled over and gonna have to see if I can reach in and tighten it.
Not sure what to take from this.... Don't ever help a German or do help a german but don't let him near your engine bay?
Just pray my clutch lasts till home now![]()
Cheers it is indeed a 150 but they've only got a 175 so putting that in and I'll replace it when I'm home. It’s a fuse if im Looking at the correct bit. You could just bridge it, but you will be loosing the protection of a fuse. But you do know why it blew, so that is what I would do.
Mega fuse, yours is 150 I think it reads.

Possibly made it worse but I can only presume that was the loose connection that was the original issue.Looks like it broke as it was tightened up![]()
You did the correct thing, to help another person in trouble. It’s what I would have done.Cheers it is indeed a 150 but they've only got a 175 so putting that in and I'll replace it when I'm home.
I dunno why I helped the guy I promised myself years ago I'd never jump start anything with this. I should have just blanked him and drove off.
The main strength of the fuse, is the fuse it’s self, so possibly just the weight/pull of the wire once blown that broke the very small bits of plastic. The one at the top should also have a top and it’s missing.Possibly made it worse but I can only presume that was the loose connection that was the original issue.
I still feel a bit bad for him. His van just was just not wanting to start. I left him while he was still on hold to recovery.I blame the Germans.![]()
Not with a kraut up yer bum.Losing power in the autobahn is not something I want to repeat.
There may be a 15a fuse there but on this occasion it was that big 150a that was kapoot.I think it’s a 15a fuse in the fuse box on the passenger side of dash?
