Are they easy to fit?

On our 2nd MH now a AutoTrail Savannah which we're absolutely delighted with
it's not difficult at all to fit one Sandra. I cut the roof (in the loo ) of the previous MH and fitted one . took me about 4 hours total. There are plenty available on ebay.
hope you and Alan had a super festive break. Sandra I got the one I fitted via the Caravan Shop, Great Western Rd in Glasgow

Is that a Seitz mini-heki?

If it is I'd recommend buying a new button that holds the lever down as well. The lid and button are available on eBay.

I've had two of these blow open in bad weather. In both cases the button wasn't holding enough (one time badly flooded and damaged van as I didn't notice for a few days).

Thanks, as per @Lenny HB its now got some gaffe tape holding it in place. I'm wondering if its possible the plastic has got brittle. Seems strange for it to have happened as my last house where the van lived was a 100 times windier than here.

They do go brittle.

We had two go on our last van.

If you have to wait for the part use plastic and gaffer tape to hold in place or make a temporary cover.

Was this in the closed position when it happened?
As far as I am aware. If it wasn't then it perhaps was slightly open for a 130 mile drive on way last week averaging 60 -65mph and it never blew open then. I am honestly not sure.

Shove an unopened Brolly through the hole from inside, then open the brolly, duct tape a can of baked beans to the handle, Job Sorted!

Don't laugh, I saw a lady do just that in a small C15 Citroen Romahome, and, she drove it home to Cornwall from Staverly

When the one went on our last van we did similar but with a plastic wrapped board on the outside and a slat used as a clamp arm inside. It was on our drive though.

Wind is getting up though Sandra @irnbru so be careful.

Good idea.(y)

It's happened at home Helen @Puddleduck. It's windy but not that windy for that to have happened.

2015 -- I do have a mate who has caravan shop in Rotherham. He probably sold me one at trade. It was a generic one and it was a doddle to replace.
They still look cheap enough on Ebay.

I would do this too... if the surrounding frame is ok then I would just replace the skylight cover to save disturbing the frame and cause possible leaks...

Well it seems trying to purchase just the lid is actually more expensive than buying the whole unit from a few suppliers which is around the £95 mark. If anyone can find me just a lid cheaper I would be grateful.

Do you know the manufacturer is? I have one in the garage that I purchased for just the handles, this was for the bathroom on my 2007 Hymer after a lorry in France decided it would be fun to pass me at 80mph within inches. Could be MPK but I'm not 100% sure.
