I'm a newbie
Well we have only been in France a few days,, travelled over 800 miles from Calais to Anduze and not seen one English person or a UK vehicle/number plate come to think of it. We are staying at a really large campsite and we are the only English people here.

Seem that we have been deserted ( not that I am moaning) - very strange, is France no longer the in place?

We have travelled down east of Paris to the Rhone-Alps region and seen very few. The last 3 stops we have been the only English out of 10 - 20 vans.

Don’t know, perhaps it’s a Brexit thing but we’ve met lots of Scots, Welsh and Northern Irish on our current continental trip.

Strange ?

Ian

You should try Italy and Croatia, all German and Dutch vans, hardly saw a British van

Come down to the Limousin. Loads of English residents and our café next door has English diners every day. Have to admit that the motorhomes that call in and often stay overnight are nearly all French.

Four words. Br**it and speeding fines. Over a quarter of a million speeding fine notices sent to Brits in the last few months. They don't want us to visit.

Perhaps people are wising up about France?

I mean, they eat frogs and talk funny.
So why did you buy a Chateau there?
We all know you have a French car, your children are called Chantelle and Pierre, you speak fluent French and only drink Bordeaux red ?

They are all up here. EVery trip we’ve been on lately has been like a set from eastenders and top gear. Aye oop, I’m even beginning to tawk loik them. Just thought I’d comment before I go up the apples and pears ?

I dont think most UK moho or caravans travel outside UK , as I have never seen many when traveling in Europe , whereas I cant go more than a couple of miles without seeing loads in UK

Even before the referendum I'd never see one until past Abbeville going north.

Have to agree with Orchid288, we have seen very few English motorhomes in our last 11 weeks in France.

It’s always been the same, see a few Brits on the ferry main drag, and then apart from a few obvious gathering points, that’s it, you don’t see any more. It’s easy to forget how big France is.

Since leaving central Portugal on the 3rd May and traveling Spain,France and now in Switzerland we've seen no more than a dozen vans and most of them have been the last thee days in Switzerland.

:D

At school I scaled the dizzy heights of CSE French studies which was French for thickos.

I got a Grade 4 :(

I remember the book we worked on. It followed the lives of the Bertillon family. Monsieur Bertillon, Madame Bertillon, Alain, Marie - Claude and Fifi the dog ( or cat I can’t remember).

Both Monsieur and Madame worked at Orly airport.

I am a hive of useful information on France if anyone is interested.

I forgot the other son - Phillipe.

I saw an Autotrail but it was being driven by a Frenchman; does that qualify?

Ian

The last few years we have always seen loads along our route, this year not one. We are near Ales so quite a way down. I did here about the speeding tickets but brexit! Brexir would also impact Spain, Germany Italy etc unless it is? The camp site we are on is lovely, they have said that we are the first British people here this year. ( so where is the red carpet I ask - only joking).

Well BRITISH tourism will go up

Don't know...maybe you should ask were the BRITISH are at...….

Don't think so, I just checked and we are completely empty this weekend
That's because we are all going to Bridport for the Jurassic Fields music festival!
