what ever they decide will be announced on Monday it comes into force on the 21st at present were not meeting the variant caveat in the road map

Think the announcement on 21st is about wether to lift restrictions in UK.Traffic light system for foreign travel depends on individual countries Covid rate.BUSBY.

My personal opinion on those wanting to go abroad is that it simply isn't worth the potential trouble.
We need to recognise that this pandemic is hugely serious & foreign travel is at best selfish & at worst, dangerous, sad but true.

I'm truly sorry if that offends some, but we've all seen the news reports of those idiots scampering back from Portugal & moaning to any idiot who is daft enough to listen to them.
My rant isn't that other countries aren't as safe as the UK, its that unnecessary travel is moving CV-19 around, your holiday plans are not as important as peoples lives.
If I was in charge of the country, if a country is moved onto a worry list, I'd shut it down instantly.
Until we learn to do this, future lockdowns & people losing jobs or businesses going down the pan is inevitable.

If we have higher infection rates than them, their Governments don’t want us to visit. If we have lower infection rates than them our Government doesn’t want us to visit them. Until our infection rates are stable and similar you can forget most foreign travel. The UK is lovely and sometimes the weather is nice too.

The date is the 24th .That's 3 days after the "opening up " was supposed to happen that they are now looking at putting back 1 month.

Goodness knows how many foreigners we have just let into Cornwall for the G7.BUSBY.

Far better to ensure Cornwall is packed to the rafters in Morrisons and infect each other that way.

Its legal to go abroad, there are conditions which appear to be complied with, Your opinion is your opinion to which you are entitled to, however the law is the law and from what I can see, your view doesnt trump the law, which was no doubt looked into in great detail by scientists.

I don t mean to offend either but if youre concerned about peoples lives at this moment in time, dont drive, its more dangerous than Covid in deaths per day in the UK at the moment, it could be construed as selfish and at worst dangerous. (Currently 35 people have died with covid in the past 7 days so 5 per day)

I am staying in UK for this holiday, as I found the 10 days and the financial implications restrictive, not the argument that some people think its selfish.

Good luck to all those who go and the next UK announcement for foreign countries to be added to our list for green countries is announced on 21st to be enacted on 28th and currently, the best guesses (cos thats what they have to be at the moment) are Croatia, Italy, Germany, Austria, Estonia, Hungary with an outside chance (very outside imv) of Spain and France.

We will be doing the same as last year, leave Spain in July and return September, hopefully this time we will be able to visit the nursing home and see my mum who is 89, our last visit the UK they had serious problems, 😷 it didn't stop us coming but it certainly an eye opener, after being lockdown in Spain but it was for the best 😉 and the Spanish were trained by Franco. 🤔

So whatever it takes or cost we are coming, both had two jabs still wear mask social distance and careful, probably selfish and all the rest of it, and probably get given advice by people that never leave the village they was born in. 😁 Bob.

pampam to answer your your actual question.
The last announcement regarding the traffic light system for visitors to the UK was on 3rd June and they said it would be updated every three weeks. The next announcement is therefore due on Thursday 24th June. Any changes would come into effect the following Tuesday.
For the rest of you the traffic Light system has nothing to do with the lockdown rules in England which will be announced on Monday 14th to come in effect a week later.

Its legal to go abroad
It's also legal to smoke, but that'll kill you too, albeit slowly. We've finally realised that smokers are a selfish lot & didn't give a monkies who they polluted with the stench or effects from their substitute nipple.
CV-19 is the same, its here to stay & sooner or later governments will be forced to cave in & clamp down on it.

Its all very well for the majority of Funsters who are retired & those with any brains will have had their two vaccinations are beginning to feel safe, sadly we are not safe, we are going the right direction though.
It's largely not us who lose jobs, livelihoods & businesses.

My point of view isn't personal, its just that I think its time we used more common sense than we have been.

But to use you're smoking analagy it would have been sensible for smokers when they were allowed to smoke indoors not light up next to people eating but they still did. I think the time for appealing to commonsense went out of the window a long time ago.

You appear to like the phrase "Selfish" for people who do things that you dont or wouldnt do.

Netherlands is putting Extra requirements on UK visitors from the 15th including. Extra test and 10 days mandatory quarantine as deemed extremely high risk.

I can't see how two fully vaccinated people from a low incidence area in one country traveling to low incidence areas in another country using self contained accommodation is likely to be a problem .
Just my point of view, which is of course personal as is anyones point of view - oxymorons permitting 😃

Who wants to go to Holland.Normally all the Dutch are in France and Spain.BUSBY.
It could be a green country in a couple of months and France and Belgium might not be. That would be a good reason !!!

To be fair we have done an island near to Sas Van Gent just literally over the Belgian border and the island was lovely and beaches superb, but the weather has to be good. We would do more of it, from what we have seen

Green, amber, red?

Your “government” doesn’t want to allow us anywhere till next Spring!

Unfortunately, it’s my government too.
