Temp on our Dometic Tec Tower always seems high to me. Put a fridge thermometer in and it usually reads 12-14º on gas or hook up. Also the temp control on the display genuinely seems to do nothing, tried it on both extremities of the setting and after 24hrs the temp is the same....

Does anyone actually know which end of this unclear scale is colder vs warmer ? (pic is a newer version than mine but very similar)

PS: I just realised that the above scale may actually be nothing to do with temperature and may be related to people born since the year 2000 "Snowflake scale"

The bigger the bar, the colder it gets.

It should be 5 degrees max, if not, something is wrong.

Doing a test overnight on hook up. Did find that the fridges built in temp sensor was on a bracket at the back of the unit and the bracket had broken so it was sort of hanging in mid air and not in the place it should be, can't see that causing too much of an issue but i've corrected it anyway.

I'll see what it reads in the morning once it's been on for 24hrs. Temp is about 24º outside but the van is still in it's hanger in the shade where it's more like 18-20º.

Ours is between 4 & 6, with the freezer -17. That is on 3 bars. Where you put your independent thermometer or temp sensor will make a large difference. The thermistor you refer to as a thermometer that's hanging off needs to be on the plates at the rear, review you manual for its correct position.

actually re-drilled the bracket and reinstalled it yesterday. Also check the fridge thermometer as something didn’t see right and sure enough it needed new batteries...
