I notice through the season not a lot of reporting on Italy.

It’s roads and driving standards for me.
Love Italy, been this year. But afraid I won't be driving there anymore.
They can fall out with you on a dead straight empty road.
We had a lady taxi driver from the airport to lido de jesolo, wow, she just kept waving her arms about gesticulating at other drivers in queues and things that nothing could be done about.
Crazy .

Maybe Funsters just get on with enjoying Italy rather than spending time documenting it.
We ran a thread on our two-month tour of Italy this year, but after a while, we found that writing up each day's adventures was taking up more time than we wanted, so we ended up catching up on our reports after we had returned home.
I hope that Fusters appreciate the time and effort that goes into folks photographing and writing up reports of their trips.

Nothing wrong with Italy. Fabulous country, lovely people, great food and wine. Go see for yourself

The point was i don't see many on here singing it's praises but do with other countrys.
Writing about trips anywhere is a very thankless task , we like to do it when we go away but sort of fed up of it now.
You start off and you get posts, oh yeah keep us updated, but after the first day or two it gets hard to find something new, one set of stones on top of another lot gets a bit samey and boring, and you feel folks are just giving you a like for the sake of it.
Then you put somewhere up and you get folks coming, yes but have you seen such and such. Nothing to do with your trip.

Spent about two weeks in northern Italy this September - no issues at all with the drivers , a few roads were rough but the food , wine , scenery and towns are lovely . Good job too as my son lives there 
We did a 5 week tour in the spring and loved it would rather drive over there than back in England wanted to turn around and go back within 30 of the channel tunnel why does most people condem it and also find the need to document there travels for all to see yes shout out about a nice site or restaurant but not every detail

In general it just doesn't have as many visitors from the UK in motorhomes or not. They don't have big holiday resorts, they don't have big hotels, they don't do 2 weeks all inclusive. Let's hope it stays like that. It would be nice if it was a bit cheaper. 
I agree , I’m far too busy enjoying myself to bother articulating / writing about every nuance or detail of my motorhome holiday .
My log / blog and vog is stored in my head .
As an aside I drove from Calais to The Amalfi Coast and found the standard of driving in Italy no better or worse than the rest of my journey .
Now you mention it I’ve also noticed it. A fantastic country, but now under-reported on.
It can be somewhat scary to drive in. The furthest South I’ve taken a motorhome was Naples. Tried to keep on the dual carriageways as much as possible...
But of course there’s nothing like it. What a place.

last time we were there we stayed in a small hotel on the Amalfi for a week. One trip we did was to Capri.
Lot's of nice little towns and bays up and down the Amalfi. Sorento was proper good.

I seem to maybe be guilty of diverting your thread myself , sorry for that but back to Italy we have been many times in three different vans , the very first trip we did to Europe in a van was down to Pisa, next we went to jesolo/ Venice and visited many places in-between ,Rimini , sanmarino, and touring around the north.
But I'm afraid I couldn't do it again, we do go to ventimiglia everytime we go to Europe just for the Friday market, but that is only about 20 miles from France and is quite far enough now.
But the actual holiday in Italy is as good as anywhere.

Been through Italy a few times and stopped in various places, wouldn’t say I noticed the driving to be any worse than anywhere else.
One thing I did notice is they have small pitches, we have a fairly big van and it’s a pain trying to negotiate around their sites.
I stopped doing a blog as never got much interest and you get people posting rubbish about MPs and that and it’s getting loads of responses.
I do a Polarsteps for friends and family instead.

Apart from the driving, I couldn't agree more with your post, the campsites would give most on here a case of the vapours, but that's the sort of stuff we like, all crammed in and talking to the people in the van next door.
The blog thing ,you are spot on again, I get fed up of putting posts on about something to do with motorhomes, and you get a couple of replays and it's gone but put some rubbish on about something that's got nowt to do with either motorhomes or fun and it will run and run, also although this might sound a bit paranoid it also depends who puts the post on.
I have put posts on here about something and get no response at all then a week later someone else will put exactly the same thing up and it will get hundreds of replies.

I've just come back from a week touring the Dolomites & Lake Garda. Absolutely wonderful.
Nobody seemed to have a care in the world (although there were beggars around even there).
The only sign of wariness was an armed guard being present at a cable-car Terminus.

Italy has become almost as expensive as Norway. Shabby sheikh, and crowds everywhere in season. Lovely place to visit but only if we’re in the area for us.

We did a 6 week trip September into October the tirol and Dolomites were stunning , the Po delta area was interesting , bad roads in places motorways very good toll or not.
We down as far as Naples for Naomi to visit Herculanium that was mad but soon got used to driving like they do and pushing in alternately even if no right of way.
Great food interesting cities ,towns and villages.
Not as expensive as we expected parking was easy on sostas and agricultural turismos.

I've been to Garda twice, the second time to be sure it was really as bad as the first time, I didn't enjoy the area, too touristy and too crammed in on camp sites (it was summer holidays though) but I would like to travel further South and see what that's like.
I've ridden through Milan on a motorcycle, traffic lights are definitely just suggestions
