Hello there !

In preparation for holidays I'm thinking about carrying some lightweight/practical spares like fuses and gas regulator in case of Truma Combi failures. Mine is the Combi 4 gas only. My van is 4 years old so I want to be realistic about what I could possibly need rather than going OTT and taking circuit boards with me.

Thanks.

Sometimes we go away on summer hols and never turn the Truma combi on, It is the one piece of equipment we can live without. Gas or electric kettle for water and tiny fan heater should warmth be required and we are on hookup, but normally just put more clothes on or go to bed early !

Basic spares, fuses, leccy tape, few old bulbs, jubilee clips, O rings, sealant, etc, but nought major. Think if you have a major breakdown then that’s what we have recovery for, if it’s anything in the hab area, it’s mostly inconvenient and can be sorted quite quickly with the network of available parts etc. Less Italy, cos they’ll all be either sleeping, eating pizza, drinking or talking too loudly to hear a phone ring 🤓😀

Most Spanish here that I know of don't shower while on holiday  My wife is not Spanish so we need to heat more than a kettle full for hers and the 7-year-olds shower. So Combi boiler sadly is essential for our summer hols.

I'm thinking exclusively of habitation area spares relating to plumbing, refrigeration and heating. Want to keep it simple enough to be able to respond to simple problems with simple tools. Got all the fuses for everything, multimeter etc

Sonar - I'm intrigued about the small fittings and fixtures you speak of which could be useful, what would these be ?. I'll add jubilee clips and plumbers tape to my list.

On top of the basics above, I bring a few water connectors and a bit of hose red and blue bands. Right angles and straight connectors. Few crimps and that’s the lot. Source spares where ever you are are or just make do until you get home.

Bottle top regulator and a hose that allows me tbypass the bulkhead regulator.
There's an idea - will have to look at the bulkhead regulator input to see how that would connect to a rubber hose for the bottle top connector

There is quite a specific Truma fuse on ours, I picked up a spare from the stealer just in case.

Only one spare required …

Most things can be fixed with gaffa tape 😂

A nice fat roll of Gaffer Tape, Fuse's and small bit of hose with Push-Fits.

Only half of the kit. Don't forget

If it moves and it shouldn't - gaffa tape
If it doesn't move and it should - WD40
You forgot the cable ties-most things can be fixed with gaffe tape and cable ties-I always carry spare fuses as well. I should say that I have bought a spare wheel for our van since they don’t come as standar-just the sealant and little electric pump to re inflate the tyre. Having had tyre problems whilst abroad-twice-in our old Hymer and had the means to change the wheel I won’t travel without one now.

Rescue tape must be the bind-it make this stuffis awesome for burst pipes in engine, or anywhere else suitable for electrical, plumbing , oil, gas. , high pressure pipes etc it's a must in a van .we had a very high pressure Nitrogen pipe burst on one of our Laser cutting machines at work , new one would be 4 days , sourced the burst, taped it up with the tape had the machine back up and running in no time when new pipe came in we kept it running until its service was was due and changed it then , great stuff always have a couple rolls in the van .
