hi have the reco tracker from global telematics ,,£99 a year ,,just renewed it comfort insurance recommended them ,,

We have Vodafone S5 (required by insurance)
Annual subscription £160. It’s very good, on a few occasions when we’ve forgotten the fob, phone call from Vodafone in less than 2 mins. Just in time to turn around at end of our road.

Moving Intelligence system on ours. Seems to work well enough. Quick response in contacting me when I turned the ignition on without the driver recognition fob being in the vehicle.

We have meta track. I think it was about 450 for 3 years. Feels like lost money but we have to have it. Its the second vehicle we had this on and I have to say they are annoyingly impressive every single time I forget to put the "ferry" mode on or disconnect my battery, or take the wrong keys out at home. I didnt even get out of the village before I got that phone call

Scorpion S5 for us as well and I wouldn't use any other now.
Really good accuracy on the Scorpion (within 10m) and the online portal and app is great, showing every journey and lots of other stuff, including your cab battery level. It also has really good geofencing routines, where you can set an area up for where you usually park, and if it moves out of that area you receive a push notification, text or email (that's on top of the usual move without start etc).
Very good customer support as well, being readily available on the end of a phone, unlike some. Had a Tracker and had really poor experience with that, and customer support had zero interest, just kept telling me to travel 16 miles to my storage to "reboot" the tracker!

sounds ok but when i asked comfort ins if i get a discount for adding a tracker they said it makes no difference i also told them i had a ghost imobilliser fitted cost me £500 didnt matter either weird in saying that the vehicle is parked at my home so i would like something that works but has no espensive subscription

that's weird ,,they told me i could not even pick the van up till i had a date for the tracker to be installed ,,i got the cheapest one i could get away with

We had a Vodafone automotive (aka meta) in last van, got a scorpion s5+ in current one.
Would say both work well but scorpion is better app as I can turn immobiliser on myself (never have) and phone can be used as driver recognition (but always have fob).
It's now due for first renewal so I'll probably go for 5 year one at just over 100 a year.

I have the Moving Intelligence Sentinel system and have been happy with it. I looked at their pricing and decided to take their Lifetime/5yr subscription. I asked why the label said both. They told me that, on average, people kept their Motorhome less than that so it was for the lifetime of their ownership of that Motorhome. So far I have owned the Motorhome over six years and have no intention of changing it. This was a ten year plus plan for us and I could see us keeping it for much longer. The only issues I have had was a failed alarm horn (although that didn’t stop it informing me) and I have exchanged the tracker for a 4G compatible one.

Glad to see someone else use the Ghost system. I had to argue with my dealer to fit one as I had all sorts of internal and external security fitted, on the “onion” principle. I just simply replied, “what if someone nicks my keys?”.

Plus 1 for the Meta Trak from me. I have Meta on the Moho and a Datatool (Scorpion) on the bike and I much prefer the Meta app.
1 big thing to remember is some older units will possible be a 2G system, like my Datatool. Some countreis ie Switzerland are starting to turn these older systems off. My advice would be to make sure it is a 4G system like the Meta Trak then you are much more future proofed. Will probably be more expensive tho.

We also have a Moving Intelligence S5 alarm and tracker. The ADR fob (which is with the S5 system but not the S7) can be a bit of a pain. It goes into sleep mode and has to be woken up by shaking it or pushing the button. Failure to waken it will trigger an alert if the ignition is switched on even just to close a window. Overall it is a good alarm/tracker and works well. We also had a Moving Intelligence S7 alarm/tracker in our previous van for 3 years and never had any issues with it.

The Motorhome I’ve just bought , dealer fitted a scorpion s7 and that’s £136 per year or less if you pay for more years, lifetime is £500 I think.

We have Phantom moving intelligence S5, very happy with it. Had similar with Autowatch on previous van . Took out lifetime subscription. Or it might be S7, whichever is the better/more expensive one anyway as the van was more expensive!
Oh yes as ontheroadagain , it’s the S5, the damned fob this time round. Dan at Consort forgot to tell us about the shaking it bit so just leaving the factory was our first phone call!

I’m so glad to hear it’s not just me that has had hassles with the ADR fob. It wasn’t too bad when the fob was on the same keyring as the keys, but that kind of defeats the purpose of it. I now have a lanyard with the ADR fob and take it with me so it moves and if I just happen to switch the ignition on for some reason, I don’t set the alert off.

Like you Comfort insisted in a Alarm/Tracker/Immobiliser to be fitted within a week of picking up the motorhome.
We drove from the Dealers forecourt in Lincolnshire to VanBitz in Somerset and had it all fitted in a day, before then heading for Kent to load the rest of the kit such as crockery and bedding.
We have had a Vodafone tracker in the past, and the current one is the Metatrac Tracker & Immobiliser system fitted by VanBitz, (which is the better system.)
The alarm is a VanBitz Growler with the added loop for cycles on the back and outdoor furniture/BBQ's etc
You would be hard pressed to find a better Alarm/Tracker/Immobiliser system for the money that whatever VanBitz are recommending today.

Trackstar - by Vanbiz. Seems to alert us when we drive out of our geo area. including telling us we are on a ferry but forget to pause the tracker motion sensor.

My competitive quotation with Peter Best Insurance Services included a tracker and subscription, they supplied the tracker which has a 2 year battery life. Simple to fit.

baileyboy I have installed a TK103A tracker in vehicles, costs less that £40 plus a cheap Giffgaff SIM. Certainly not insurance company approved but gives me all I want to know about the vehicle whereabouts and can be configured in various ways including geo fence etc. It can also be configured to operate a relay (supplied with it) to do whatever function you desire. Yes it's a bit old but they are still available.
Here is the data sent back from the tracker as a text when I have called it. No it wasn't doing 100mph, that is in KPH so about 62MPH.

well ive decided to use an old smart phone i dont use anymore with a smarty sim £7 month includind use in eu can use life 360 for real time tracking or google find just charge of leisure battery
can see it draining my 280ah lifepo4 anytime soon thanks for all your input
