When I got our MH it only came with fairly small levelling ramps which on a long tag axle doesn't make that much of a difference.
I've seen the Milenco Quattro ones and although they look good can anyone recommend some that are even better or are they more than adequate ?

Even the millenco quatro ramps broke with us and we are just 3.5t. Plus they are heavy and big beasts. The fiamma ones have all broken in half so unusable. We can still use the quatro ones, well one of them as the top has broken off one so can't reach the top step on one of them.
Make your own is my advice. Seen a few homemade ones.

I use the Thule ramps too. Had them for ten years now and never had an issue with them. Big plus for me is that they are black and don't stick out like a sore thumb like the yellow ones do.

The Millenco Quattro ones are MASSIVE - and weigh a ton. I ordered some and when they arrived I could hardly pick the damn things up! So back they went.

We've had the Milenco quads for a few years, seem fine to us. We did break some Fiamma ones when we first got the van.

I have considered making some but I reckon they will be just too heavy by the time they are built out of timber with the height I will need

We bought a pair of Milenco Quatro ramps from a fellow Funster and I can manage them fine ( as a weak girly. :moon2:). The only problem we have had is that they tend to scoot along on hard surfaces, instead of staying put so the van can actually get up onto them....any advice on this issue, gratefully received!

Rubber matting underneath the ramps may help

Get the tallest you can manage/accomodate in your lockers. That will probably be the Quatros and, yes, they aren't very light but seem to be better constructed - although mis-use will wreck anything.

Rubber matting underneath the ramps may help

Never thought of that, it's happened to us occasionally but our solution was to knock a metal tent peg through to hold it.

We use Milenco triples (rather than quatros). Obviously, they don't provide quite as much lift, but they are significantly lighter weight and have a much smaller footprint.

Have been using them regularly for more than 7 years, and they are still in excellent condition. They store easily in our pvc.

Short scaffold boards and different thickness timber to go under depending how much lift you need.
You can move the timber about to help with lift as well

We have the quatros, very sturdy but as others have said quite large so you need decent storage space, worth the investment though in my opinion

We've used the Quatro's for quite a while with our 4.5 ton van and they are still in one piece and like new.
Now sitting in my garage at home unused as we have levelling jacks.
£20 if anyone want to collect from Mid Suffolk or we are off to Jasmin Camping in the morning if anyone in that direction is interested.

Richard.

We have the quatros and are pleased to have the extra height that they provide - we regularly need to go to the top ramp but don't go further - they don't like it when you drive over the top.

having just looked at the Thule and Milenco triples, it seems the Thule has a higher weight rating, but actually weigh less than the Milenco triples so either narrower or less plastic.

How wide are the Thule levellers ? The Milencos are 24.5 cms

We use the quatros and have done since we have had our 4.6 ton MH.
Managed to break one when it slipped under on slippery ground, but still useable.
Went out and bought replacements, which look stronger on the end we broke.
Recommended.

I bought some Thule ramps, used them a few times and seem ok with our 6 metre Inca, it would be nice if they were a bit higher, but I carry some bits of off-cut boards to assist when necessary http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Thule-Pai...eller-5-Ton-/172716587347?hash=item2836b5f953
I did quite a lot of research before we choose the Thule ramps...they are very good and not too heavy and they are black which is less 'eye-catching' thana bright yellow....we like them.

It's the height I wanted and the "scoops" for the wheels make using them quite easy. I originally bought a pair of the yellow Fiamma ramps but was never happy with them (still knocking around in the garage somewhere). I actually got the Quatros as a gift for subscribing to Practical Motorhome!

I mounted our ramps on a piece of scaffold board by screwing them in place.
This means:
They are 1 1/2" higher
The wood is on the floor prtecting the plastic from stones and uneven ground
If the ramps freeze to the floor in frosty conditions you can use a hammer on the
side of the wood to free them

I bought the Quatro ramps and whilst they are undoubtedly very sturdy they are IMO also too large, cumbersome and heavy - I used them once and then bought these Fiamma Level Up Kit Grey + Storage Bag Caravan Leveller Ramps which I find much more appropriate

The Quatro ones are now gathering dust in my home garage!!

We have a selection of Milenco stuff that came with the van, most has broken, the only Milenco item we found useful has been the step.

Because I am a solo traveller, I found any ramps a bit of a pain. For the last year I have taken two hydraulic bottle jacks with me. These and the scissor jack that came with the van allow me to level it very easily by myself. I have only had to use all three once- most times I can level with one jack. That is not a misprint.I also have three pieces of wood to stop the jacks sinking into the ground. It takes longer than driving up ramps, although time is not usually of essence. The up side is I can get it perfectly level if I choose. Most times I don't choose, as long as it is about right.I use the original jacking points.

We are in Portugal at the moment and there is a very large camper next to us he jumped out with two pieces of trailor wooden decking quite wide for the tyre each side placed suitable thickness for the correct hight and simply drove onto them I was very impressed how simple it was to get the camper level and cost next to nothing. As he drove on the board's leveled out so he ended up with the board's level with no chance of rolling back.

Bought some Milenco Quattros in the end and so far they have proved to be very good. I did hear of a little tip to stop them skidding forward sometimes when you start to drive up them, simply attach a piece of webbing to the front of them ( ie a piece of seatbelt ) then they cant move because the webbing is trapped under your front wheels

To stop skidding we use a tent peg through the base of the Quattros. The webbing idea would work just as well, must get some.
