What is your van lacking that would make life much easier?

Love the two way switching idea ....

I've added most of things I felt were missing, but perhaps the simplest and best were the cup holders for morning coffee in bed (after the lithium and inverter!) but that doesn't mean I have stopped looking for tweaks to improve the experience....

Definitely NOT Kyle minogue! Self levellers would be awesome, a bed that goes up and down at push of a button so if no bikes in garage I can lower and make the bed easier, toilet cassette door on outside rather than inside at back of garage, a drawer in the kitchen for cutlery, a tv bracket that extend 4 inches longer and lastly a sensor thingy in the water tank that lets me know how much water I have on board ooo and one last thing underfloor heating so i never have to worry about my pipes etc freezing that would give me real piece of mind. List done 👍🏻

I'll start.
Screw in sink taps.
The amount of times I've gone to do the washing up using the last of the hot water from the kettle, and the first plate/knife/fork etc to dislodges the plug. Out drains all the hot, soapy water.

Second thing is a roll out sun awning made out of flexible solar panels.
I thought everybody got a washing up bowl that fits the sink - washup in that while retaining access to the plug/drain for pouring out residuals of tea etc & then empty the bowl when you're sure you're done.
We did that at home for decades before getting dishwasher & saw no reason to not dublicate when we got a 'van.

Our kitchen sink is only just big enough as it is without reducing the size with a bowl. As for disposing of tea dregs etc, we just use the wash hand basin.

A device or alarm which would sound when the passenger leans forward, fannying about in her bag, just when it is imperative that I look in the passenger side wing mirror.
It is a mystery to me how she has such precise timing.

Seriously - Steps rather than a ladder to get into the transverse bed over the garage. Otherwise one day I might slither down the alloy ladder and break an ankle after "a good night out" when making my usual middle of the night loo visit. The available space does not lend itself to an easy solution. Ideally I need two steps. Plainly the toilet door needs still to open and ideally also the fridge opposite. I keep trying to devise and build something that folds and is stable.
It is the one improvement that might see me changing my van for good reason rather than because I want a new toy!

Sorry to hear that, can't understand why makers wouldn't realise you need space IN the sink. Don't know what your vehicle is but in my observations it seems to be the biggest ones that have the least space in things like that.

An a class with a double floor would do most of that! 😜

I mean, you'd only have to change your motorhome....

I suppose its a trade off between available space, fuctionality and the amount of water needed to fill them.

we have a remote for bed lights

A gas bottle level gauge would be nice ...

On a slightly off topic note, does anyone use Kitchen Paper to first clean all dishes, cutlery, pans if washing up in the van ? (Obviously doesn't apply if using the site facilities) Only takes 1 to 2 pieces and makes washing up easier and most importantly keeps your grey tank much much cleaner for longer ! Travelling around Europe for 3 months and has been a huge benefit. Keeps the pipes/traps much cleaner and smelling better......was shown this tip by a Kiwi we met who said they do it a lot in NZ.... When I empty the grey tap there's hardly any smell !!

Hmmm🤔🤔🤔
1, some racking for the spare pumps!
2, built in washer, dishwasher.
3, waste water filtration system!
4, tec tower out, compressor and microwave in its place.
5, Built in laundry basket

Yes my RotarexDimes App on my Gaslow bottle is brilliant - check the gas supply from my bed......
