I purchased quite a lot of 'stuff' before collecting our new motorhome, despite the advice from this forum not too!

Thankfully, for all it's sins, Amazon have a great return policy!

This week I have returned:
-19" TV. Wow, these are sooo small. Managed to get a refurbished AVTex 21" to fit :)
-Android 10 radio - just didn't work, so fitted my old DAB radio instead and I think that's all I need.
-Ring alarm system. Turns out the MH has a Sigma S34 fitted, so happy with this.
-Colapz watering can. Goodness knows what I was thinking here. It's close to useless. Instead, I've got a micro-hose from Hoselock that's compact and perfect.

I'll probably also be returning the 3 camera dash cam that was far too expensive. It doesn't fit well, and I think a cheap front facing camera is all I need.
I've bought a collection of 'blind spot' mirrors instead and a fresnel lens for the passenger side window for a few quid.

I haven't returned the following, not from Amazon and I don't want to see the suppliers to suffer for my mistakes:
-Wheel chocks are so small they probably wouldn't stop Noddy's car from rolling down an ant hill.
-Melamine dinner set. We're in two minds about this. They look okay, but feel terrible.

Perhaps the best purchase I've made is the colapz rechargeable shower. Not for the MH (yet), but it's been great for showering the dog after a muddy walk! One bucket with water soapy water to clean her, and another bucket with warm clean water to rinse and she's done. Love it!

So, what have you wasted your money on? (Just in case I'm tempting to go down the same route now I've got money in the MH fund again!)

I think you will find you need a collapsible watering can.

We bought one a couple of years ago, it only gets used a couple of times a year, but when it does it's a godsend.
I event lent it to people on the pitch next to us in Totness

The type we got was one like this.
It has a screw top, so also has a second use as the emergency water container (to flush the loo or fill the kettle) when needed.

Spare wheel and jack - so far totally unnecessary.

Spare wheel and jack - so far totally unnecessary.

Spare wheel is for peace of mind - on every trip, even if fitted by breakdown service.

We had a blowout in single lane roadworks with no proper hard shoulder, bank too steep to climb and no crash barrier. I would not have wanted to stay there for hours while ADAC sourced a new tyre, and while HGVs were passing within inches.

My cab battery is seven years old and failing, plus my two gel leisure batteries are 10 plus years old and were down to 11.8 volts this week leaving me sitting in the dark so I could still run the heating and not get hypothermia.
So my finger is hovering over the Buy button on ebay to replace all of them.
Tanya batteries have 10% off until Tuesday via ebay.
Definately not wasted money, but still a fair chunk, and the Mrs will say 'owmuch :swear: :xrofl:

I ordered 2 new gaslow bottles and all the system for our new MH about 5 months ago thinking they would be in short supply due to all the vans being sold, they are still sat in the garage due to MH delivery delays and there’s no shortage of Gaslow so that was a wast of time but still I will need them at some point.

Washing “dolly” , I think that’s what it’s called. A bit like a giant sink plunger , thought it would be useful for prolonged trips away but it’s still in the box. I’m keeping it just in case I become one of those “preppers” as the world might be ending although I think I’ll just rinse my undies in a bucket and not worry too much about the big stuff!

Probably the current van, didn't need to change old one was less than 3 years old but we couldn't resist such a good deal.
The full air suspension as when I got rid of the crap Michelin tyres the ride improvement was more noticeable than when we had the air fitted.
But we love both and would never have a van without full air now.

One of those lay flat blue "food grade" expensive hoses, in practice they are to bulky, and awkward. Now have a couple of the slinky expanding hoses that fit easily into a waterproof folding top bag.

Probably the best upgrade, value-for-function, was the LiFePO4 battery and associated gubbins.

Worst would have to be the cheap Chinese TPMS, which was completely useless and a total waste of money. Replacing it with a proper Tyrepal system was very worthwhile.

Apart from that, probably my favourite is the Von Haus cordless tyre inflator. That is one amazing bit of kit.

We have the EHIC and that's free
Check it out

One cannot apply for EHIC anymore, it's now GHIC but it still doesn't cover everything to do with Covid. Check it out

When I was in Portugal a few years ago and having horrendous stomach pains, I was informed, by the hospital that I attended, that despite my EHIC card, I would have to pay upfront and claim later. At the time, travelling alone, I wasn't going to argue?
Thank goodness it wasn't for a massive amount so didn't claim.

Sorry, wandering from thread.

The TV, what a waste of money and a cupboard. I don’t know what make or size it is but it’s been used three times in six years. We don’t go travelling to sit watching as my ex RN leading hand called it the idiot’s lantern. Even at home we watch about 2 programs.
What possessed me to buy it I don’t know.

Engine antifreeze!!
I bought some last year with the full intention of changing the engine coolant but never used it, at least not yet anyway.
