    Afternoon all,

Well I have just purchased a motorhome of sorts......it is a 1987 Fiat Hymer 544 (non turbo) that has been parked under a hedge since it's last MOT ran out in 2009! Have replaced tyres, done water pump & cambelt, got it running etc and it only failed the MOT on lights (headlights plus various markers/indicators etc) so I hope to have it road legal by the end of the month.

The interior has had a "renovation" started but really does need some work. I am based in East Kent and would really like to find someone local who has a similar van so that I can work out where everything should go and how it all works!

Any advice, pointers, things to watch and general words of wisdom welcome!!

    Many thanks

Hi welcome to Fun, you have a nice base vehicle there, when you have finished it should be a good van for you. :welcomefunster:

Our second motorhome was a Hymer (Merc based). They are well built and reliable.

    HAVE FUN!

    2. You're brave, what a project.
    And
    3. You'll have a great motorhome when it's finished, as others have said they're strong, reliable.

Thanks all....now MOT'd and rent paid - just got to get the cushions covered, curtains made, pumps working, internal electrics, skylights fixed, oil leak stopped.....and few other jobs! Might be busy for a few weekends :)
