What has happened to Brittany Ferries Club Voyage scheme? I went online to join it yesterday expecting to get 30% discount on all crossings made. However this is no longer the case for people booking after the 16th November 2021. Below are the new discount rates for Spain.
SeasonTravel datesSaving
Low01 Nov 21 - 07 Apr 2230%
Mid08 Apr 22 – 23 Jun 22 & 12 Sep 22 – 06 Nov 2210%
High24 Jun 22 – 11 Sep 225%

When you take the cost of joining £90 one off registration fee and £180 for the 1st year membership it is no longer worth joining.

I guess financial reality has hit BF just as it has the rest of us. I'm glad I chose to renew my membership this year when we had only made two crossings since joining.

Looking at those high season rates using a code from an existing member (pre 16th november) gets you 10% off. So 5% more than if you actually join?

The French government bailed them ou to the tune of 650 million euros so like a lot of businesses they will be looking to rake some back

There is are two versions of the Club Voyage scheme if you have the cross channel version I thought you only ever got 10% on the Spain crossing? Or its this new rate applicable to the ferry to Spain version.

It does say up to 10%. I have heard of instances in the past when only 5% has been offered

Just paid out for another year but it could be our last, going to Spain next week but if we feel like going next year we may as well use the tunnel. By using a Tesco credit card throughout the year we get enough points for a free crossing.

Thank you for the posts above , we have only recently started travelling ( bought house there Dec 2020 ) We never got round to joining the Club Voyage due to the Lockdown and after reading the comments I can see how it has changed , Wow you used to get 30% on all crossings and now its only 5% , we now got to work out if its worth it, we hope to move August / Sept permanently to France and hope to make crossings at least 5/6 times a year , Is joining Club Voyage going to be worth it ? we like to do the overnight crossings.

I suppose it depends if France ever shut its borders to transition tourists then the only choice would be Brittany ferries direct to Spain.

I would say without a doubt worth it CV France costs £120 in the First year, £60 p.a. subsequently.
Apart from the crossing discounts up to 35% midweek low season you will get 2 x £10 food/drink vouchers on overnight crossings and other benefits.

I normally fill my quota of sharing my code with friends and family,,managed £150 last three years so I am very satisfied with Brittany.BUSBY.

You can use them for Irish Ferries too. We got return journey Fot £168. It was more than that each way for the tunnnel.

Tried to get a refund using a friends code, but that was declined at the very end of booking. In the end paid full price over two nights, which wasn't informed till the very end and after having paid. Hope this will be my last crossing with them, even I go to Spain every year.

Have you any reason to think this may ever happen? Or is it just scare mongering?

I joined last November and I feel as if this discount regime was in place then as I got 30% going out in but only 10% returning on 2nd May

So I was booking a return ferry for next week, Portsmouth to Santander standard M/H (<8m+bike rack) with the cheapest cabin both ways on the Galicia, I put in a friend's code and got offered a £100 discount (woopie doo) which gave a price of approx £1095 return! I then checked out the C&MHC site and got the same boat, same cabin, same everything for £1054. Still expensive but a bit cheaper. I will be sticking to DFDS Newhaven- Dieppe route and driving down in future. Even with todays Deisel prices it's still cheaper!

I let it go after having supported BF since the late seventies, they let me and others down so badly and are definitely not the company they were.
The new Chinese built ships are not a patch on the vessels they have replaced, no entertainment, or cinema. Just jam as many paying passengers as possible on the ship. Plus it is now a two night voyage and not one as it used to be, and you stand a good chance of the MoHo being stored on the aft outside deck, getting covered in salt spray. And if you are unlucky and get a cabin over the doors that go to the dog walking and smoking deck you will be kept awake all night as the door closing mechanism has broken already so they just slam, very loudly right under your cabin. It is like Ryanair on sea, cattle class.

We only use them at the winter rate so that’s fine by me. It’s a ferry that cuts out the boring drive through overpriced France so that’s also fine by me.

Just copied from the BF site.

They have sent me a renewal advice/warning. (if you have recently renewed, please ignore thisl

Anyway, back to part of the above.

"The annual subscription fee, detailed above, is for renewal before the expiry date shown. If you allow your membership to lapse for a period in excess of 3 months following the expiry date and then wish to renew, your membership will be changed to our new Club Voyage scheme where conditions and benefits have changed since November 2021 and the full membership registration fee will be payable in addition to the annual subscription fee."

For your information.

Absolutely, and guess what the last time we used BF we were front left outside almost and yes totally covered in salt and sand, this shouldn’t happen at £700 a ticket and what does it say about the design of the ship.
