What did you forget to pack

We got to the outskirts of York before I realized we hadn’t packed the bedding. Fortunately we were staying next to a retail park so bought bedding there.
Now we have a set of bedding in the van permanently but there are is still going to be things we forgot. Most things we have been able to buy en route apart from medication.

Really all you need is medication, passport, tickets, money (some folding and lots of the plastic type). Anything else can be bought at some point.

Martin's luggage went missing on a business flight..... he had to buy essentials at the airport and at over £20 (30 years ago) they were the most expensive pair of underwear he ever owned. They also didn't wash well so ended up in the bin after a single wearing.

I had a trolley load of shopping which I had just bought from Sains.
I was about to load it into the boot and my phone rang.
I sat in the car as it was cold to take the call.
5 minutes later I drove off and left £90 of shopping in the car park.
Only noticed at home when I opened the boot 😣

Was it still there when you got back?

Years ago, when we were still camping the other half forgot the tent poles… luckily it was only about 40 miles home, not 200. Kids were amused me less so. I think it was a ploy. I always double check everything since.

Went to collect latest Motorhome in Germany forgot all plates, bowls etc so had to eat from the dogs bowl until we found a supermarket, I did wash it first.

Minor inconvenience was remembering the TV but not both power leads for it… major was the Branston Pickle for my favourite Sarnies! Also, somehow all the blue quality street sweets had disappeared from the box - again! My other half swears blind it was mice… and we have just caught two in our MH… hmmmm…

My Dad once took my sister out in her pram and left her outside a shop. She was still there an hour later when he remembered!!!!! Mum never let him forget it.
My mother did something similar but it was the dog she left tied up outside a department store in Brighton, this was after she'd been very vocal about some curtain material she'd bought with one of the assistants while we tried to pretend we weren't with her. Of course, we got the blame for not reminding her about the dog.

Another time we were going out in the car for a trip when I was a child, she turned to my sister and I in the back seats and asked if we had the dog, we said no and she looked at my dad in horror and told him to go back because the dog was still shut in the garden.

Same dog both times.

we didn’t have a motorhome at the time, just a van and a tent for holidays, but one Christmas we went away to his mums and we left our young daughter asleep in her cot..
got half way there before we realised, I thought he’d popped her in with our dogs and he thought i had, dashed back as quick as we could to find her standing up in her cot chuckling away to herself,,

On the subjest of Mothers i was 8yrs old sitting in the back of her Hilman imp and she left the handbrake off on a slope
Its funny now but at the time it wasnt very funny
Just damage to car and garden wall

We always get to a point when we say "well if we don't have it now we will simply buy what we need or do without" although we have gone back a couple of times because I have left my phone behind !!

Like many others, a neat pile of underwear left on the bed at home !

We have a large plastic box at home, that folds flat. (Really Useful 35 litre)
Anything that needs to go into the MoHo such as the keys, the laundry bag, bedding and other bits gets put into the box and taken down next time we go to the storage place.

Also like many others we have all the important things like toiletries, laundry, coats and boots in duplicate, we even have a small bag with about '3 days of emergency clothing' all of which stays in the MoHo all year around.

It means to move into the MoHo we only have to take the box plus clothing, passports, money and the contents of the fridge.
(and the same in reverse when moving back into the house)

Placed OH's set of MH keys and plastic wallet containing MH related cards(Breakdown/EH/NT/ EHIC etc) on the hall table saying "There's your keys and cards". A week into the trip it was discovered that they were still there. I'll get her to sign for them next time!

I only allow OH yo have one spare hab(only) door key, kept in her wallet. All that other stuff is in the MH 'hidyhole'

Mum did that to my big brother Ejaydee so she admitted to more than once.

We do this too. If it's for the MH, put it in the box.

Shoes. Yes, I’ve got a favourite pair of Skechers trainers that I tend to wear about the garden, should have been binned years ago but they’re so comfortable I can’t bring myself to doing it. Anyway, last year we were on the way up to Nottingham to visit sister then onto the Lakes for a few days, stopped to get some fuel just north of Peterborough, you don’t want to know what Mrs W said when se spotted what I’d got on my feet.
Needless to say the first stop on arrival was the shoe shop. Still got me Skechers though.

meanders Robin, it wasn't just Mum, can you remember Dad leaving you and me on the top deck of the bus when we were on our way to Granny's? I have to assume our parents didn't really want us 😂😂😂.

I wish my parents had left me somewhere, I’d have hid so they couldn’t find me, then maybe I’d have got adopted to a family that had a farm and animals and hugged people..
suppose it’s too late for me now isn’t it?
