Ok own up, what have you forgotten to pack when you went on a trip, and only found out when you got there?

Forgot all the bedding one time.
Didn't take any shoes another time and only had my slippers on for the first few days.
So what have you forgotten to take? Your partner? The dog? The passports?

Many things so I now meander my way to the tunnel if going abroad so I have a chance to realise before I cross.
Good job too, last year I had a couple of nights in Brighton on the way and realised I'd not got my passport, spent so much time making sure the dog had all his paperwork sorted I forgot my own 😂
Only a 14 mile trip home, that's what I'll do again this year.

We also forgot the bedding once.

Not in the van but some years back drove from Saffron Walden to Liverpool to pick up the Dublin ferry only to realise we had left the passports at home. They still let us on, and no hassle getting home either.

Many years ago, on our first 'try out' weekend, I forgot to take the keys to the locks holding our bicycles to the rack..

Another time on long summer trip to Europe, forgot to take any shorts, I live in shorts all summer, ended up buying new ones from Decathalon.

My all time greatest fear is to forget the bike keys and / or batteries ! 😱😱😱

Our first trip out in a new to us van I forgot all cutlery. It was amazingly difficult to find anywhere selling it. We coped with one knife and fork each for a 4 week trip. I was too mean to buy more because we had it all at home.

First trip with our Bongo, I forgot to put the gas cylinder in. When away many times I forgot to put the fridge on gas after taking the Moho out for the day. I didn't mind walking back 3 miles at all 😩

Am not the only one to forget knickers, fortunately keep spare ones in my bags, so had 3 pairs to be going on with.
Now leave some permanently in the van.

You were lucky Ryanair weren't operating the ferry!

We, being 'smartarses' and forgetful, have nearly everything duplicated in the house and the MHm, even down to toothbrushes/paste, shaving kit, cutlery and of course bottle opener. We put all bedding back as soon as it is washed after returning home(We have no damp/condensation problems). Occasionally we borrow from MH stock for the house, so have to be careful to replenish it in MH soonest or we forget.

I am sure we have still forgotten something trivial, but cannot remember what and when., although we shuld have had warmer coats for November last year, but that was bad decision making rather than forgetting.

We have everything duplicated for the van apart from clothing, and even some of that (coats, boots etc)
However many years ago no2 son forgot his passport. They were the days you only had to show it to get back into the UK, luckily they let him in on his students union card. It wasn't the only time, a year or two before, as the only son with me, he brought the wrong one, that of no3 son. Again luckily it was accepted even though they don't look much alike.
My only contribution was flying solo to Majorca without packing any underpants, fortunately they have shops there.

Once we thought we had forgotten the keys to our caravan in Spain . We drove home 250 miles only to find then in the centre console of the car fortunately we had a day to spare before the ferry as we had intended to stop off and see friends on the way.

Tick, done that.

Now have a packing list that goes locker by locker, area by area and additional lists for if we have a Grandchild with us, intend cycling and / or kayaking.

'tis the only way.

No exactly forgotten but we were on our way home and we’re stopping over at Cite d’Europe
( obviously a few years back) My husband oddly suggested we go to the shopping outlet there. He despises shopping.
Then it clicked…he hadn’t packed enough underpants and had to buy some 😂😂

No you’re not. I arrived in Barcelona on a trip with Claire with no M&S undies. We were there 5 or 6 days and it was baking hot. They were in a neat pile on the bed waiting to go in the case at home. It’s surprisingly difficult to find a shop like M&S in Spain. I resorted to El Corte Ingles but that’s more John Lewis and most difficult to get the sizing just right!

I've also forgotten to pack knickers as well, went to Orlando with Mark, realised almost immediately that I'd forgotten to pack them which necessitated a quick trip to our favourite Publix supermarket and had a quick stock up with enough to get me through the holiday.

Left the book bag with phrase books and guide books got a new 2025 European atlas

So that will do and uncle Google

I used to fix our tamden to the back bike rack i made and had to remove the wheels i left one leaning againt the bumper and drove off and we had gone 200miles to the site. I didnt go back so new extra strong wheel /front disc and tyre and inner tube

Not motorhome related, but in my teens on a weeks youth club camp, three of us decided to have a night without a tent a few miles from the campsite, just sleeping bags and bivvy bags. When we got to our spot for the night I realised I didn't have a sleeping bag, so spent night shivering in a night plastic bag 😅
