Although not the greatest fan of alloy wheels on Motorhomes I have inherited the.m with my new purchase. There is a multitude of choice. Any recommendations on good tried & tested ones

I wouldn't worry too much, I've never heard of Motorhome wheels going missing. Too heavy for the scrotes to get off and not much of a market for them down pub. I'm not saying they they don't go missing but it's very rare.

At near £600 a corner ( 360 fiat alloy wheel and 180 a tyre) I have the same thoughts .

You need to check your PCD as it will be 130 mm 5 stud or 118 mm 5 stud and the threads will be either a M14 or M16 .

Best to check before you go buying .

Hi.
You can buy a "A Wheel lock unlocker" off of e-bay,but,i had them on the last m/ho and have thought about it for this. These tyres we have on M/ho's fit..... No prizes for guessing...Vans and vehicles without inside carpets, beds, loos and sinks,so there is a ready market.
Tea Bag.
PS. If you lose the locking key for your lockable wheel nuts, any self respecting tyre fitters will have one.

I wouldn't bother, I like a few other Motorhomefun forum members have said "the wheels from motorhomes are rarely of interest to those who'd steal from you". I've never heard of wheels going missing from motorhomes, so the wheel locks aren't needed. In fact they are a real pain in the arse on a wet night with the rain pouring down, that's when you discover that they're seized solid.
In fact they can cause death or serious injury to the AA guy or whoever you have breakdown insurance with as they end up spending longer in the live carriageway of a motorway fiddling with stuck locking wheel nuts & I for one don't envy them that job, would you?

I was just going to say do not worry you will never get the bastaXXs off when you get a puncture UNLESS you take them off in controlled situation then clean and anti sieze them. The corrosion will weld them on there.

Bit of a waste really, don't bother fitting now. You can go to any car part dealer(GSF,EURO etc) and buy a set of sockets to remove locking wheel nuts. Most garages have them for when customer has lost his key socket. Years ago a colleague at work had all his wheels stolen on company car. New set supplied with locking wheel nuts by company. Week later came out to see car on bricks with locking wheel bolts lined up on front wing!

Nearly every vehicle comes with alloy wheels these days, it's really only low end entry model vehicles with steel wheels.
They used to be stolen for the 'bling' effect but now everyone has them there's no 'bling' anymore.
