Hi all

If it's the Expanse, there's a few on Ebay. Camping Interiors have them too.https://camperinteriors.co.uk/

They are re-badged Propex units.
You might get better and more accurate information from Propex themselves.

That's not entirely accurate. Propex sell them but they're manufactured by Whale in Northern Ireland.

Thanks all
It turned out to be a bit of a learning curve situation, after speaking several times with Whale customer services it turns out you have to make sure you get a like for like replacement, not all of the heaters have the same PCB board inside, the unit l needed was the one shown in rb62s answer.
This model works with the Whale duo control panel, the others don’t apparently.
Price wise there was dramatic differences in quoted replacement cost, Propex said she had 10 on order at a cost of £778.00, next price was £720.00 from another supplier, then spoke with Just Caravan Spares who charged £600.00 with free delivery, should arrive late April, the worlds gone mad they think we are all millionaires!

Thanks again for all your reply’s

The PCB board for both the Duo Control and the more recent separate dials are the same, it's the iVan LCD controller which differs.

For the F Line's we've found owners have far fewer problems with the tried and tested Duo Control panel on the older models.

Glad you're sorted!

I recently sent them a new one i had that should have the £300 control panel .(i didnt have the control panel)
They changed the circuit board and supplied the control for the new board for about £65

Vehicle is a 2017 so not old at all, l did speak with propex they didn’t mention they did repairs but then l didn’t ask(my fault), when speaking with Whale they were adamant l had to order the exact model that was in my van any other unit would not work, the problem l had was a bad water leak coming from inside the unit, couldn’t see where it was leaking from but it definitely wasn’t the pressure release valve unit or the heating element so made the decision to replace it.
When the new unit arrives a strip down might be in order to learn a bit more about the issue.
Dealing with Whale was like pulling teeth it took 4 calls and 3 emails to get any useful info, l probably in hind sight could have found a cheaper way but it’s done now, putting it down to inexperience and impatience.

No longer have the van but used to have a 2016 Marquis(Elddis) 125. Had an issue with my heater and it was sorted by Propex in Ringwood.

I have fitted a whale to mine but i fiitted the internal model. The inlet and exhauste go through the floor, I felt being inside under my raised floor would last longer. Its worth takeing the end panel off your old one and looking very easy and now you have lots of spares. I think you made the right choice in buying a new one, if the old one ends up being an easy fix it will still be worth £350.
If not an easy fix you have spares. But there again i like having spares .
