Hi
We are on our way home from Pisa western Italy area
Looking for routes to go into France via alps. Want to avoid Switzerland
Whilst okish to pay tunnels €70 seems excessive for the mont blanc
7.4m x 2.4m and 3.5t - 2.3 - 140 Fiat Ducato
Mont cenis appears to be a ok route ?!
Or what alternative that does not add too many hours
Would it be worth the hassle of the hills or should I just bite the bullit and pay the fee ?
Any tips or guidance please
Thanks

We went via Mont Cenis to and from Italy this year a month or so ago and overnighted at Lake Cenis which is about the halfway point over the Alps.

If your decision is cost based its probably cheaper and faster to pay the £35 vignette and go back via Luxembourg than pay all the French tolls.

Mont Blanc tunnel will be closed from 4 September for 15 weeks which might affect your plans if not returning soon.

It’s more reallly a feasible issue going over the pass in motorhome rather than cost. I guess I was supprised how much it was when I looked earlier
Came via Austria on the bremmner pass
We are going via french tolls on the way home anyway
It was just I’ve never done a high pass and did not want to strain the van or the wife 😀
Leaving from Pisa in an hr or 2

Have you got to go over the Alps for some reason, if not why not just come back through ventimiglia and Menton , and try the south of France. Always our route now.

No all options really. Frejus tunnel Mont Blanc. Or round. Just read about the mont cenis route and sounds nice. But maybe not do much fun in the camper van 😀

Update. Went via Mont Blanc tunnel. Never done before and a little delayed before in payment queue. Trip through ok and lovely views coming down into Chamonix
