A Class Burstner
Exp
Since 2014
I had a slow puncture on our Burstner A class and rang around numerous local tyre garages and mobile fitting companies about getting it repaired. Virtually all of them said as it is a motorhome of 4250kg they would not repair but would replace. Quotes ranged from £180 - £205 (Michelin Agilis Camper ).

Managed to ring a local mobile tyre fitting business, and the guy said he would pop round today to look at it... Horrible wet weather and freezing cold, but got it off and found a large nail right in the middle of the tread....( only 1000 miles on the tyre). As it was right in the middle of the tread he said it was repairable..... 40 minutes later, fully repaired and refitted. Checked the inflation of the others tyres - all OK.

I was chuffed that he could repair it...and then....he only charged £30 ( including the VAT).. Result..Now he could of stung me fo a new tyre tyre and charged £180, but he was spot on honest and did a great job.

He is called Richard and his firm is Edge Tyres (07810 093094. edgetyres@outlook.com ) based just outside Abingdon near Oxford and covers Oxfordshire, Berkshire and Northamptonshire and parts of Wiltshire.

Very happy?

Yep the rest were chancers, only can't repair if it's on the outside 25% edges or the sidewalls, anywhere in the centre 50% is fully repairable.

Many years ago, I was doing scrap metal with a truck and tipper trailer, it gave me more tyre problems than enough. ?
If I could get home or not too far away Janie would bring a wheel out, ? we had a heap of tyres on rims at home. ?
Our tyre man was great, providing the tyre was legal he repaired them, but the amount of times, they take the tyres off and say sorry drive can't repair it you need a new one, ? and then try and charge top money for a cheap tyre. ?
Had a spare on the unit, but not the trailer, had a puncher on the trailer, and yes sure enough you need a new tyre. ?
I would say leave it, put it in the trailer strap the axle up and come home. ? Bob.

I can understand if you are at the side of a busy road or m/way. Wheel off, new tyre on, blow it up, wheel back on and gone. That’s what used to happen when I was working but otherwise a rip off I think.
Well done for finding an honest guy. ?
