I think like the last one, this lockdown will see the massive spike in Motorhome and Caravan interest and ownership grow even higher. Sites from Easter to October are going to be busier than ever. If you plan on using campsites in April or beyond you should try and book ASAP, it's going to be manic.

I agree is going to be manic once places are allowed to open but I wonder if easter is a bit optimistic but no harm booking. We're just about to book the tunnel in May but in hope as much as expectation.

I do question the word lockdown is this one of those words imported from American.

Also is it not more like restricting movement.
We are all free to go shopping, look after vulnerable people and even travel a bit for exercise.
Those that can’t work from home can travel also.

I do agree with you though, I can see this lasting a fair time.

Sounds horrendous

You can stop questioning it now, it's the British Collins Dictionary Word of the Year :D

Ok the use of it then 🙄

There’s lots of words in the Collins that are questionable 😉😊

I cant wait until we can escape this country in the motorhome.I dont think the newbies have the confidence to do that yet;)
I don't know about that 🤔 when we bought the motorhome we had a quick week in skeg to try it, then drove straight through France to Benidorm 😜

When we started, I bought a converted ldv van unseen off eBay, within 3 months we had been all round Europe in it, no breakdown insurance, no aires books or apps, no satnav no alarms or even a lock on one door, best trip we have ever had  (y)(y)

It will be interesting to see how sites react. Will people need to show evidence of vaccination to be allowed to pitch up? What will the situation be at the ports or abroad?

We've pretty much given up the idea of going to France next year sadly. My 90yr old (well he will be in February) lives with us so he'll get the jabs hopefully by the end of February. Sue works in a secure Mental Hospital so semi key worker so possibly the same for her. Me I'm 64 so not expecting to have had both doses by the end of July quite frankly.

We own a wet only bar. We expect to be shut until April at the earliest. Motorhome currently used to provide tea after exercise the New Forest - possibly the worlds most expensive flask.

I could see many pubs wanting to encourage MHs to visit to spend their dosh in the pub, maybe this will add capacity as regards places to stay.

It can only do the UK economy good if our places are packed rather than people going to foreign places to spend their cash.

I certainly wouldn't be surprised. If the big clubs, with all their communal areas, come up with a plan that before you can book you must upload a vaccination card. But it's early days yet, we'll have to see how the vaccination plan progresses.

Our first Motorhome, picked it up in Belgium got it home once registered, took it for a shakedown weekend in the New Forest then a couple of weeks later set off for the Baltic Coast of Germany. Got as far as Belgium weather was awful so turned right and ended up in Solviena.

So Easter is going to be busy?

If the clubs do it, they will probably be following Airlines, ferries, trains, buses, gyms, swimming pools, hairdressers, indoor and outdoor events, cinema, theatre pubs, restaurants et al

yeah i imagine that they will seem to be what things are coming to very sad state of affairs.

Seems strange that certain dates attract so much activity, especially as I was not aware that religion is strong any more.
Now I'm retired, every day is exactly the same.
If floodgates are re-opened for the sake of popularity, it seems likely that we'll plunge back into the position we're in now, again.
