I'm a slightly less experienced newbie and still learning
Hi
Prospective purchaser of A/S Broadway EB, standard specification is Peugot powered unfortunately auto not available with this engine. Suggestion by dealer is to opt for one utilising Fiat power which can have auto. However he then said that it would eat into the payload by 50Kg can this be right! this would eat considerably into what is already a modest payload. How heavy is the latest Fiat 9 speed auto box?
I believe from memory the comfortmatic was only about 18 Kgs.
Any advice where I can look to find this info. would be appreciated.
Infrequent poster, still searching potential Moho purchaser and wondering whether I am posring in the right place!

Thanks

You are right, the weight of the Fiat auto is only 18kg over a Fiat manual. I wouldn't think that the payload difference can be only due to a manufacturer swap on the chassis. I've looked online and can't see anything about the Fiat based technical specs for the model in question, however would it maybe be that with the auto you are stuck with a slightly higher trim package? This would account for the remaining weight difference perhaps?

Depending on which of the two versions of the ZF 9 transmission, the weight of the transmission is either 78 or 86 kg. I don't know the weight of the standard transmission but I would think considerably less.

Thanks for this 78 or 86 Kg is that both engine and autobox, please? how does it relate to the 50Kg weight increase in MIRO of 50kGS advised by dealer, unless of course the Peugot engine and gearbox weighed only 30Kgs? can you comment

ZF 9 transmission only. The 50 kg difference may simply be the difference in weight between the manual and the ZF9, but I do not have any information to support that.

Fiat 9 speed auto is 18kg.
If payload is tight can you order it on the Maxi 4250kg chassis.

I think that the 18 kg is then the difference in weight between a manual and the 9 speed. It does not on it's own weigh 18 kg.

Hi Gary
Thank you very much for the link and info.
Scouting around all over the place, I am beginning to accept the Peugot engine is considerably lighter. It appears when they needed to comply with the Euro 6 regulations it was necessary to make it smaller to meet them (and that it is now really a Ford unit!) whilst Fiat were able to retain their 2.3 size.
So the 50Kgs uplift in MIRO becomes more understandable although it is not the outcome I wanted.
I am just amazed at the effort people like you put into helping others out in Forums such as this and it is appreciated.

I can't believe there is that much difference in weight between a ford engine & a Fiat of near enough the same capacity.

Having had a Ford engine, and had to repair it, I can see why it is much lighter than something reliable
