Hi, Anyone know of a weighbridge near Peterborough? I know Dalton Seeds in Eye (literally 1 mile away!) have one but want £15 per weigh!
Seems excessive to me. I will pay it if I have to as need an official ticket to re-up-plate my MH (already has original VIN 3500 and an Al-Ko VIN of 3850 but V5 says 3500).

Many thanks.

You only need a weighbridge ticket to down plate, even if it has been down plated you may still need an engineer's report. I would contact SV Tech and see what they say.

Their online form requests pictures of all vin plates?
I will be speaking to them after initial quote though as I want to know what the upper limit will be for the MH before i have to fork out air assist (Al-Ko chassis).

Used to be one at Stamford at the bonded wine warehouse, the main scrap yard at Fengate definitely has one but not sure if they offer a weigh only service.

There's a few suggestions on this previous thread but it's old now....

If on a Fiat light with Al-Ko, max will be 3850, real axle 2000 kg but can be uprated to 2240 with either semi air of full air, if 15" wheel, tyres will need changing to 225 section.

Hi Lenny. I have Maxi chassis, 16" wheels, Tortion bar rear suspension. My plates already say 2120 rear axle.

That's odd on the rear ours is a maxi with Al-Ko rear axle is 2500 & front 2300 Gross plated at 4500.
Maxi chassis is normally 4250 or
4500kg.
In your case the max without mods would be the total of the two axles.

Hi Lenny. I knew I had images of my vin plate somewhere.... The AXLE 1,2,3 are slightly misaligned on the Alko plate as i am a single rear axle. Logic tells me total weight max would be 3970Kg? But obviously taking care not to exceed 2120Kg rear?

Its not the AMC Light chassis, so you should be able to uprate to 3970.
Insteresting that the original Fiat & Al-Ko plates give different gross weights.
What does the converters plate say (Auto cruise) as that is the one that counts, last plate fitted takes president.
