Cleaning the freezer the other day and the plastic door hinge snapped AGAIN 😖
£17 for a bit of plastic on ebay.

This is a very common problem as 'auto complete' on ebay knew what I wanted before I'd finished typing.

I've cut and superglued 2 perspex rectangles over the weak spot where the screw goes through. So give it a go when yours breaks 😊👍

Had the same problem . Ordered this from Amazon as I thought it was a pair but was a single hinge and I needed 2 . Total cost £45.18🙈

If someone had showed me that picture and asked "What do you think this is for ?" I would have suggested something like " The gripper on the top of a clipboard ? " There's no way that item is fit for it's purpose and neither is it's designer !

They appear to be of the poorest quality available and the metal spring inside gets rusty as it’s inside the freezer compartment and must get wet when it’s defrosted . Over £45 for 2 plastic hinges . Crazy ☹️

Oh rust! 😎 I've still got that to look forward to yet 👌

It’s a bit of a job at the moment to get to my fridge/freezer freezer, mine is also a dometic, from memory there are only 4 screws per hinge, remove the screws and then hinges, I have gas/electric welding equipment, therefore I have 2mm brass rods. When you get the hinges off you’ll see small channels within the hinges, I cut the rods to fit the channels, bent/made the rods fit perfectly, lay them in the channels, mix up some 2 pack araldite and pour into the channels, leave to set for a day or so, then refit, done both of our hinges about 3 years ago, my wife is heavy handed, but the hinges still survive today, good luck

Read my post before yours, mine were just like yours before I did the repair, now they’re better than new
