Afternoon Funsters, just wondering if any of you are on the 9.30am Newhaven to Dieppe ferry on Tuesday. We’ve never taken that particular crossing, so a tad apprehensive.

Been in a few times you can arrive in the port the night before and park up. Saying that there is a nice pub you can stopover in Saltdean just at the back of the lido. Dieppe is a nice town to explore to.

Our preference when crossing as we live 20mins From the ferry. It’s a laid back port with little fuss or long queues.
We usually get the night crossing & sleep on the boat. We also don’t bother with a cabin, too hot & stuffy in our experience. I take a roll up inflatable mattress & lay in the bar area.
We go on 15th for 3 weeks to Brittany.

I live 20 miles from Newhaven and been crossing from there for 30+ years. As Just smiffy said, it's an easy approach, well signposted, laid back, lovely no hassle staff. There's only one ferry in port at a time and only the one check-in point so everyone is going on the same boat.
Dieppe is gorgeous; cafes and bars on the quay, good shopping, superb Saturday market, one aire beside the port and another right on the prom. I have on occasions tarried for a week there before heading South.
I'm booked to cross on 21st for 6 weeks over there.
