Hi all

I’ve been rinsing through some water tank purification stuff over the last few days and filled and emptied via the taps no problem.

Just getting the motorhome ready for a small trip over the weekend and lifted the tap to make sure all ok and no water.

Pumps kicks in can hear that straightaway but there’s no water coming around the bit in the picture - usually you can see it swirl around but the waters obviously not getting to that point.

Any obvious things for me to try please.

Thanks

Jo

Assuming you have water in the tank, have you flushed the filter on the end of the tap?

HI

Now I’ve yw
Has your water heater dump valve opened in the cold weather?

I’ve just nipped out but will check - I didn’t think my old one did this as the yellow flag thing to empty i manually lift when it’s cold but will check.

Pumps packed up. The motor is going but not driving the water pumping part or the cleaning solution has affected the pump in some way.

Shit !
I deliberated doing it to be honest but the stuff I used was what everyone had said use - puriclean.

This is why I dare not descale the boilers!

One step forward 5 back :(.

No I don’t but posted for a few ideas - perhaps things I could try.

Won’t stop the weekend trip but trying to understand what’s gone wrong even if I can’t fix it is usually what i do.

Thanks for reading and responding - I’m always appreciate.

If you're referring to Qfours post it's only an assumption unless he has a window to another dimension and can see your pump in operation.

It's more likely a simple air lock

Thanks PappaJohn - released some air by pulling a little plug thing and we have water !

Little bung I’d call it not sure what it is - yay - one step forward no steps back !

First thing I'd do is check if the pump is working, and hasn't got an airlock inside it. It looks like the pump is a submersible type that's in the tank (there's an electric wire going to where the hose comes out of the tank).

To check the pump, unscrew the cap that the hose and wire go through, and lift it out. Separate the hose at one of the joints. Warm the joint with a hairdryer to make it flexible and easier to take apart. Submerge the pump in a bucket/bowl of water, and operate a tap to switch it on. Expect a strong jet of water from the hose from the pump, and catch it in the same/another bucket. If no water jet, tap the pump to dislodge any air bubbles inside it. If still no jet, but you can hear the pump motor, then at least you definitely know the pump is not working.

Edit- just noticed you solved it already
