Water pump problem ??

Hi all. Bit of a strange one ( to me anyway). Have a mixer tap in the kitchen as well as in the shower and bathroom. This morning after no issues earlier in the week whilst away, the kitchen sink mixer tap does not work. Other taps when switched on, fire up the pump ( Shurflo King 7) and supply hot and cold water. If i leave the bathrom sink running, water will also pump through the open kitchen mixer tap, but not when that one alone is open. I'm scratching my head, any ideas..... Thanks in anticipation.

Sounds like the micro switch in the tap is faulty or a wire has become disconnected. Can you check the wiring to the tap?

On some taps there is a switch to trigger the pump. Sounds like there is one on yours and it's broken (or dodgy connection?).

It's a microswitch tap, although the switches do fail, it's far more common for the wire to the switch to break, they can often be repaired. You need to strip down the tap and have a look.

Thanks all. There's various wires. I'll explore there later and try and take a pic. Thanks for your help so far. Hopefully get a local supply if it's a straight swap.

Just a quick thanks for the advice received. As suspected, the wires into the micro switch were bent and broken and had in fact been poorly previously repaired. A bit of a faff accessing under the sink and needed screw driver and a torcx one but all done for around 13 quid. Once again thanks.
