Some....good & bad!
Hi,
Went away at the weekend and got a 0% alarm for the water even though the tank is full.
Dumped the water, rest empty voltage and refilled but exactly the same.
Is there a way to test the sensor? I tried blowing into the tube but nothing happened.
Thanks

I think the consensus is that after a while the sensors don’t work! If you can get in your tank you can clean them I think? We just don’t trust ours & guess! 😀

Mine does not work and never tried to repair it.
I just lift the seat and check the level by eye. That’s another thing I don’t have to worry about..

I can live without the level % gauge, what I can't live with is the pump being shut off completely when the display reaches zero, which is what it is stuck at.
I'll try a new sensor.

What type of sensor is it?

I fitted a float switch in our tank, it just indicates a 25% level with a red LED. works very reliably now 👌

It is the pressure actuated type:

The problem is the water pump is linked to it and will cut out when the sensor reports 0%, which it does all the time.

The pump shut is because there is a setting in the manufactures setting called auto pump thus they set to on by default if you set it to off the pump will run if the sensor says empty.

Could it be mucky. If so, chuck this in, run through the system, leave 24 hours, empty into grey tank through all the taps and shower, then rinse and fill the fresh. Helps descale all the fresh tank and boiler and then cleans the grey.

This thread might help.

I’ve been threatening to use this to clean all the pipe work and boiler as we live in a hard water area, how much would you add to a 100lt tank and is it simply a leave for 24 and run out into the waste? Would I need to refill the tank again to rinse it all through?

Thanks, that will get me by until it's fixed. (y)

When we had a Bailey (2013 Approach SE) I had to reset the water sensor fairly regularly as per the procedure on the left hand side of Lunarman’s screenshot - not sure if it’s the same on OP’s, but maybe worth trying a reset??

I would put in a 1kg bag, diluted in warm water and straight into the fresh tank. Run it through all pipes on hot and cold, including the shower, this will ensure the boilers full. Leave 24 hours, then run through all taps again, on both hot and cold settings and leave in grey tank. Then flush the fresh out a couple of times and sally’s your auntie and all good to go.

Be sure to buy food grade only. 👍🏻

That sounds like a dangerous good idea (bloody predictive text sure I wrote damn)
I used 3 float switches one double and got 4 leds but one is close to top/ overflow. works a lot better than the original.
Also put led box in cupboard next to fill point, also visible from inside.

If you have a large enough access hole at the top of the tank you may find that the sensor is accessible. My own can be cleaned with a coarse cloth (empty the tank to do this) by rubbing it up and down. My sensor is like a couple of metal rods which will take a fair bit of pressure. Over time the rods get a film of grime on them which stop the sensor reliably reading the water level. The same applies on the waste tank which needs cleaning are often due to the bits from washing up etc getting in there. The illustration is the type I have, bit of a bugger to change as you have to get at the large nut holding it in which is hidden from view

Thanks Ian, but it is not that type of sensor. See post #7.

Didn’t Bailey have a problem with the water level in the top front corners of the body 🤔

Does it need re-calibrating?Ours always say waste full & fresh water 100%🥴

Update:
New sensor fitted, but alas no change. It would seem there is no voltage at the sensor. The fault finding flowchart says check the PDU fuse but there is no fuse specifically marked for tank sensors? All the available fuses are intact.
Bit stuck really 😕

It’s the tank pressure. Just had the same problem. You will have to have another overflow pipe fitted. Solved the problem for mine

You can bypass the this in the service settings

You can also override the sensor temporarily by pressing and holding down the pump button.
