Not been able to get to van for a while.

Today clean water was poured down sink just to clean anything out that might be lurking .... but despite being open at the outlet nothing came out. Hoping no mice nests or anything up there.

Any suggestions please ... bicarbonate of soda??

Could the tank be frozen?

I don't think so ... I emptied it completely before leaving it over Winter.

I tried turning lever back and forward to try and produce some kind of suction .... female logic .... but nothing happened. I am on level so it not that either. :(

The indicator thingy says waste water tank full but it always says that .. it just stuck there from day one.

Brian beat me to it.
I've used Buster Plughole Sanitiser after each trip for years and that clears out any gunge.
If the van isn’t quite level it may require more water down the sink than you might first imagine before any comes out the grey tank drain.

Ian

Thank you both .. will try and find some of that but will try putting more water in first.

Thanks all of you. :)

You may have to take the pipe off behind the drain tap, usually held on with a jubilee clip, to drain the tank and then clear the tap of the blockage.

Thank you .. if other ideas fail .. I will try that once this dizziness clears and I can lie on floor to do it. Thank you.

Yes I agree, any residue in the tank or pipe has had time to solidify just before the tap as it’s usually a “bottleneck”. Very hot water might help (y)

Try pushing some thick electric wire up the pipe, it may dislodge something, be sure to jump out of the way if it does!!!
Cheers, Dave(y)

Will do. Funnily enough something happened last year and I meant to buy some thick electric wire to keep in van for such as this. A good reminder. :)

You're welcome, hope it works and the blockage doesn't have legs!
Cheers, Dave(y)

I think Joy's van probably has an Ultradrain system like our Burstner, rather than a tap clipped to a convoluted waste pipe.

i keep a length of net curtain wire in the garage for such problems

My money would be on not enough water down the sink to show any outflow at the waste outlet.
Mine can hold quite a bit depending on angle of parking.
Keep pouring water down until it appears

"Mr Muscle", Drain cleaner, Worked for me. Main problem is "human hair". The Drain cleaner will dissolve it. Without going and reading the instructions, I think you leave for 15 min and then flush, repeat if necessary.

Crumbs .. diverse opinions ..

Thanks everyone .. will start with the simplest .. ie move the van to see if maybe it not really level enough

...and then work ghrough them all.

Much appreciate your help.

You don’t need to move the van, you just need to add more water.

sexist much? some people these days don't use labels specific to gender and I have met some very capable people of all groups that would be proficient at sticking something up a waste hole to get things moving along

Dont be tempted to use domestic drain ckeaners as they can melt the pipes.
I often wondered that as the pipes in the van are plastic the same as at home so why would they melt in the van and not a t home?

Different plastics, my comment was based on experience. When I was helping a friend, all the pipes got very hot & soft.
