Anyone stopped at Wasdale NT campsite, web site states approach road difficult?
I'm not to concerned but would like to know what I'm in for.
Planning to go this half term, hopefully dryer than last October when we experience 3 days of horizontal rain.
Happy days.

It's nearly 10 miles of single track. The passing places are poor and often not even gravel. And big long sections of the road have drystone walls on both sides (the northern road has more walled sections). I've been there in a car on a weekend and it took nearly an hour to get from the main road to the pub at the head because of the amount of traffic. If I knew it was going to be really quiet, I'd maybe attempt it in a PVC. Don't think I'd try it in a full width motorhome though.

You’ll have no problem. Loads of trucks go up and down Wasdale every day. From the bin wagon to the Dray wagon. I’ve been up and down in mini buses, Land Rover pulling trailer, pulling a caravan.
Don’t worry, it’s not a problem.

Thanks, appreciate advise.

Unless you specifically want to stay in Wasdale I prefer the NT campsite at the Langdale's and better walks in my opinion.

We spent New Year there couple of years ago. 7.4 m A Class. No problems.

Drove down to the car park in a 2.35m wide Motorhome a few years ago, no problem just a couple of butt clenching moments with vans coming the other way on the dry stone wall bits.
Should be a doddle in a PVC.

Was down there a few weeks ago. No problem unless you're nervous. If you are nervous, avoid the Hardknott/Wrynose passes from Ambleside, too!
