I will start the ball rolling with the following advantages:
- Price
- small physical size (and weight), so easy to mount near the leisure batteries.
- Just two physical micro-switches to set for LiFePO4 batteries.

So, what am I missing. What are the dissadvanges? (and are there any more advantages?)

I fitted one.

It is as you say and was very very easy. Particularly if you have a Hymer, it’s in the thread in my signature lead acid to lithium.

Another advantage of 12-12 30 is you can use the existing 50A Hymer wiring and simply feed it into the EBL. Saves having to counteract the feed back loop that would be created if you wired it directly to the leisure battery.

If you're looking for possible disadvantages, 30A is not a very high current if you have a big leisure battery bank. So if you are thinking of adding to the leisure batteries, bear that in mind. A higher current means less driving to refill the batteries.

My Hymer came with the 45amp version.
It seems to charge the 2x100Ah lithium batteries, retrofitted by Mjnheer E van Bitz, in short order.
The merc 180A alternator seems content, delivering the rated current from tickover.
Coupled with 275W solar I no longer suffer from electile anxiety. Now to work on the hair loss...

Thank you all for the positive comments.

With regard to the fact that 30A is not a very high charge current, I am thinking that I can upgrade to two, but 30A will do me for the moment.

For one 30A B2B you can feed it through the EBL as Pausim says. For two I'm not so sure. I think you'd need to wire direct to the leisure battery. Still, no big deal either way, you just need to be aware.

Thanks for that.

may be worth you looking at the sterling 60a one instead of 2 30a?

Probably a question with no clear answer . I'm musing fitting a B2B, on my Knuas Sun Ti 2015ish with a view to a possible move to Lithium at some point, however anyone any idea what current my alternator will sustain. I've no idea of it's capacity is there anyway to tell, certainly it's not an easy access in the engine bay

I would think Fiat would know if you give them the Vin number. I think I found info about mine on the original Merc documents. Otherwise you will have to try looking for the label on it which may not be easy.
