Getting there!
Going to view this tomorrow morning, is there anything I should be looking out for or questions I should definitely ask?

Also any feedback on marquis leisure?

Nothing wrong with Rapido vans but it says 3500kgs inc 550kgs payload I would definitely drive it to the local weigh bridge do not take the salesman’s word for it.
Also Marquis have some terrible service reviews.

Struggling to find any info online, having just read a spec sheet in French I think it might be 3100/400 which should be fine.

Out of it's 4 MOT's it's had 3 MOT fails but nothing major each time.
The next MOT is due on the 3rd of next month

Spotted that but thank you for info, according to the dealer it’s only owner was an older gentleman who travelled mostly to model train events hence the large garage requirement.

Most euro vans of 3500kgs are over weight when 2people fuel and water on board but if your happy with what thespec tells you that’s fine, they are often incorrect as many new owners have found out.

Just translated the spec info and it says empty weight includes driver 75kg, gas bottle plus fuel and clean water at 90%

That's unusal most manufacturers give the MIRO with only 20 Lt of water, was the spec for the same year van as you are looking at.

400kg payload is far too low IMO as you have to deduct from that any factory & dealer fitted options that can easily add up to 200 kg. Also the van can be up to 150 kg overweight when it left the factory. It is also quite a large van to be on a 3500 kg chassis.
I wouldn't buy without getting a weighbridge ticket for gross and axle weights, 3500 kg vans often don't have much capacity on the rear axle.

A bit odd that they have removed it from their website before it has sold as their loosing the chance for perpetual customers seeing it between now and your viewing if you do not buy, or maybe they are convinced they have you hooked already.

As everyone says get a weighbridge certificate BEFORE parting with your cash and make sure you get axle loadings as well.

We have an 881F bought new with the heavy chassis and love it. Rapidos are built heavy but durable. We wouldn't hesitate to have another one despite a few issues but these have been sorted by Rapido.

Marquis are not a Rapido dealer so you might want to figure out who is your nearest dealer is in case you need support.

Refundable holding deposit has secured it for now so they can’t sell it anyway

We have a Rapido too - love love it:D as others have said get a very recent weighted bridge reading ( our dealer drove it there the morning of our visit) and I would personally asked for the MOT to be carried out before my decision.

Good luck and hope it’s what you want(y):D

I hope you find it meets your requirements and you get a good deal.

Rapido has scored high customer satisfaction in the owner surveys by motorhome magazines.

Take a non invasive damp meter and check it out. Don't rely on the paperwork (y)

According to the dealer page, it says 4 berth, 4 seats..
If it’s like ours, the right hand bench seats should come with matching seat backs and the option to make that seat forward facing. Also enquire about cambelt/water pump history:)

nearest weighbridge is at the tip just down the road so you could do it on the test drive

I asked for our Hobby to be weighed with the driver on board before I put a deposit on it. The supplier (BCS Manchester) said in eighteen years of selling mohos he had never been asked for that. He thought it was a great idea and gave a good start point for the new owner.
3600kgs with MGW 5250kgs (y)

Been today, crossed of my list, firstly because of condition (well used is a good description). Secondly we both didn’t like the raised bed layout.

The search continues

Interesting to hear you say that about the condition. When we bought our van we looked at loads in dealers as well as private sales and there was no comparison. The private sales were in so much better condition and Considerably cheaper than the dealers. In fact one of the van we looked at privately was bought by friends from a dealer six months later at 8% more than we were being asked for. That buys a lot of checks and/or repairs!

Good luck with your continued search.

It wasn’t damaged or bits missing but I don’t think the old owner cleaned it very often (inside)

To be fair the dealer did say it hadn’t been valeted and prepped yet and others seemed much better.

If nothing else it was good in that you are now starting to narrow down what you do and don't want by seeing them in the flesh.

The dealer knew you were coming to see it and they didn’t clean it up?

Says a lot about the attitude of the dealer I think..:(
