Versailles - Palace of Versaille -MH parking (1 Viewer)

Just had a weekend trip to Paris to see Phil Collins in concert at the Accor Arena and as we have been watching the BBC2 series Versaille we would go have a look see. Decided it was too much trouble using public transport so took the MH. The place was absolutely heaving but joy of joys, the local authorities allow MH to use the coach car park for a charge. We were there about 4 hours and charged 15 Euro. Even better the coach park is immediately to the front and side of the palace itself, so if any Funsters are contemplating a visit, feel relaxed, you will be able to park there.

PS: as an aside the palace and grounds are truly amazing but suggest you book in advance online if you are visiting as the day queues are pretty long no matter what time of day you are going to visit.

Also, the music with the fountains only runs at certain times of the day.

Or you can park on the road that leads to Paris for about 4 euros for the day and will be 100 yards further away.
Free parking is about a kilometre down that road on both sides and we stayed overnight without any hassle from the police. It really isn't a very good nights sleep though.
We also worked out you can free park at la grand trianon which is basically within the grounds.
The grounds are all free of charge and for us, the grounds are well worth visiting and the palace is somewhere that we can say we have been to.
Make sure you get there early !

The Palace is OK but not a lot of furniture.....( thanks to the revolution)

Chantilly is stunning and has furniture..
