I have a Pilote A class G 600 motorhome does anyone know which replacement vehicle battery i need, is it just the basic Ducato one

Do you mean starter battery? Does it not have any markings on? People normally just replace like for like. Obviously the physical size is an issue. If you post the year and engine size, someone will no doubt advise.

If you get exactly the same just make sure that the posts are in the same place so as the cables reach

Get the 3 digit code off the old battery. That refers to dimensions, capacity, layout etc.
