Vehicle Trackers

Lots of new vans have then installed and subs are around £100 per anum, personally I think it is worth it.

I made my own system with £20 Mini GPS Tracker Vehicle Tracker (Amazon)
I hooked it up to a 12V Battery (ones used in RC Cars and Helicopters) charged by 2 small solar panels, So not connected to any Vehicle Batteries. Nice Phone App to see where Moho is and Speed (When Kids using it!!)

And your insurers would laugh and hang up.
You only need an old phone but they won't accept that either.

That won’t count for an insurance company requirement it has to be a managed service.

My Insururance preople are insisting I have a Thatchem 5 or 6 Tracker fitted. Are there any opinions out there? I think I also to pay a subscription!

Apologies. I already have a Cat6 Thatchy but don't trust it as the Bad Guys know how to disable them... Thus created my own.

I have a Scorpion Tracker, my choice having once had a van stolen.
What I do enjoy is the route map of everywhere I have travelled, not only the map but also every minute it shows where I was, how fast I was travelling and as it includes Street views, I can see views I may have missed and where I stopped. Love this feature.

ive had them
I hated them
I think its a golf handshake with a lot of these companies.

Same as when Vosa insisted I needed a "certified installer" to fit a very simple immobiliser to my Jap import. VOSA List cost £220 same spec not on VOSA List, £80

Don't apologise, I suspect you have perfectly decent personal tracker, it just won't meet the Insurance companies requirement
