Hi All

Our Injector Light has appeared on the dashboard (2001 Hobby 750 Fiat Ducato) no loss of power, after going to several garages including a Fiat one, to get the computer re-set ‘ODB2 Port’, we eventually found a lead which generates it's own power, so with the new plug the computer now recognises the problem but has created another one!!! It’s NOT the Injector Light as shown, it’s an Engine Fault, so when plugging the computer back in with the new lead it now shows ‘Cooling fan low speed fan relay P0480’, so after that long story, does anyone know where it’s located?!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tony

hi there

there are 2 fan relays, a low speed and a high speed, in a box near the centre/top of the radiator. They are controlled by the engine ecu.First pull the plugs and give them a good soaking with contact cleaner.

Cheers - mike

Thank you both for your reply, yes it just comes up with P0480, I'll take a look tomorrow, thanks for that.

Its never that simple.
The code description may show cooling fan relay but it could be caused by a myriad of problems shown below.

The generic code for fans is p0480
For the low speed fan its code p0481 and for the high speed fan its p0482

The causes for this DTC may include:

Faulty fan control relay 1
Fan control relay harness is open or shorted
Circuit electrical connections poor
Faulty cooling fan 1
Faulty coolant temperature sensor
Fan cooling fan harness is open or shorted
Cooling fan circuit poor electrical connection
Intake air temperature (IAT) failure
A/C selector switch
A/C refrigerant pressure sensor
Vehicle speed sensor (VSS)
