So i am going to venture into my 1st van conversion and wondered :
1. does MHF have a forum section for van conversions?
2. what are other good forums out there for van conversions where i could gather info that might be of help to me in my journey.

YouTube is good for ideas, FB groups can be good for specific vehicles, here is where you'll probably get the most useful advice.

Do you know what van you're going to convert? Have an idea on layout?

If so just post a thread with a rough drawing and the sort of specs you'd like. You'll get tons of help (y)

Without wanting to detract from this great forum, there's also this excellent Website/forum which helped me enormously while converting several vans in the past.

This might a big project for you but this is what you can do. Ps. Not mine.

It will also depend on what you are converting, how big it is and what you want from it. Is it a Fiat/Peugeot/Citroën type van or an ex military missile launcher. There are lots of variables.

I was watching Escape to the Chateau on catch up last night and Engineer Dick Strawbridge bought a van conversion which he is going to turn into a campervan conversion. Looking forward to watching that.

i found the greg virgo vids quite good and helpful particularly the build side, joinery and the plumbing etc.
the elecs a bit dated now..
others don`t like him but i got good inspiration from watching them during lock down..

I'm currently watching his van build series , I like it

Humble road a great series of Vids, he has brilliant ideas for design and tech, only issue is that the tech is US. His use of 80/20 aluminium extrusion for construction is so weight saving and strong, but I wonder why he needs to save weight when most of the vans are big engined 3 and 4 litres.

That’s a good one for self builds. Get most of your answers with a quick search. And the discounts are worth the membership
