An acquaintance with a successful motorhome sales business in Yorkshire has recently driven to Bournemouth to purchase a used motorhome for resale. (Not what I see as an 'essential' journey).
He recognised the current owner and the m/h as it was he who had previously sold it to her. He wasn't pleased that he had to pay nearly 5 grand more than when he had sold it to her 3 yrs ago.

Shows you vans have increased in value lately.

Thanks.

So presumably he reckons he can sell it for £8-10K more than he did 3 years ago, that really does surprises me , and would further suggest that it would be maybe nearly £13 K more that he paid for it 3 years ago. Quite a stretch.

Exactly my thoughts too, but he's the son of a plain talking Yorkshire lady-friend not given to exaggeration so I doubt it's a tall story. Mind you I don't know what the actual figures were but he also deals in top end classic cars so perhaps not too surprising if it was a 50 grand price tag.
On the other hand with the severe shortage of m/h's he may have been content with a quick turn/minimum profit on it just to produce some income since there's no profit at all without stock. He may well have had a buyer lined up for it.

He’s operating his business, so a perfectly legitimate journey. 🤷‍♂️

Probably a dozen or so people in the back of the magazines will give you an offer

One offer worth a hundred of our opinions

Is it auto gear box please?

It’s manual.

Me and misses at struggling getting into the high bed so looking at changing it for a van with two single beds.

Yes I realise his is a legitimate business but I've been under the impression that very many legitimate businesses have been/are locked down unless classed as essential, but I don't follow the precise detail of what is classed as an essential business or when it's allowed to open so I was a bit surprised that he had made such a long journey for what I'd call 'non-essential' business.

Businesses have never been categorised as ‘essential’/‘non-essential’; only whether they can operate in a covid-safe manner. 👍

Yep, this was the week before 29th but I realise now from bigtwin that 'virus safe' businesses weren't under any operating restrictions.

In my experience dealers tell you that there is very little value in respect of aftermarket accessories, just that they make them easier to sell.

This is true but they soon push the boat out and add additional accessories as a selling point.

I thought this post was about a funster asking for a ballpark valuation for his Motorhome but it seems to have digressed completely into what is or isn’t essential travel. Just sayin...

I have tried to get a valuation on my MH from 2 different company's. Neither have bothered. One came back and asked the mileage, i told them i had put it on the enquiry form and told them again. Still never came back. The other one i am hoping they are not working or they have plenty of stock and don't want mine.
Guess which 2 i wont be buying from.

Around £32k ?

probably makes the trade in around £27k

Simon-Alan Kerr will have more of an idea without having to just guess.
Thanks for the recommendation! Your pretty much spot on with where I see it at the moment.
Realist feel free to PM me. I may have a van for you.
