Not sure if this has been on here yet? My other half has had zero information from local surgery, so went on this site. Only tip is 'be honest when answering the couple of questions. She quite rightly ticked the 'not sure' box. Her first Jab is now tomorrow with the second jab also confirmed. NO letter required!

Yes we are both 60 - 65 age group with at risk issues,(we get the flu jab each year) so were waiting for the call to have the jab. Then saw that we were entitled to book through NHS web site as we had moderate health issues as listed. Jab on Monday. I think they have only recently changed the ability to book through the NHS web site. I had been trying before Thursday and the Message'You are no able to book at this time' kept popping up. So something has changed

That's not what the link says...

Book a coronavirus vaccination - NHS
Book your coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination using this service if you have received a letter inviting you to book your appointments

Thats why I stated NO letter required....Try it! or pass on the link. It's not a short cut or taking someone else's vaccine it's cancellations or extra doses need using.
But you stated No letter required.

The link clearly says...

if you have received a letter inviting you to book your appointments

Anyway, the link does work as Shirl tried it a short while ago.
She had a choice of locations.
York.. 40 miles away
Hull... 50 miles away
Leeds... 64 miles away

As it is she rang her surgery.... Appointment 2 days later less than 4 miles away

If you're not eligible, the site won't let you proceed past NHS number & DOB.

Went for mine today (not yet 64).

The confirmation said all I needed was the booking number... but actually the vaccination centre wanted my NHS number & a form of ID. The booking number wasn't required.

The NHS homepage is not up to date.
The booking system will not allow you to progress, once you enter NHS# and DOB, if not eligible.

My next door neighbour and his wife moved down to Limoges France between Xmas and New Year to get in before 1st of Jan as they are starting a business over there. They had an introductory appointment with their future Doctors practice on Friday and they are booked in for their first jab next week and 2nd 7 weeks later. He is 52 and she is 47. No underlying health issues. Shows how much the French are not coming forward for the jab.

Tried it today I’m only 54 (Theres People round here in their 20‘s and 30‘s getting it) and took my DOB and NI number and when I truthfully answered I wasn’t a health worker it kicked me out

so I really don’t know how people younger than me are getting it? I have a letter from my employer stating I’m an essential worker (true). But no dice with a jab yet🙄

There are lots of vaccines available and needs to be used. Had a call from my GP, we both are abroad, so our shots will be used by somebody else, until we are back. When we return, just a call and book in. Maybe different counties have different rules. No letters.

I got my jab earlier than expected after a prompt to check the website on MHF, and have just been able to book Mrs twbm too, even though she's under the 64 yrs old stated on the welcome page. (All questions answered honestly!)

Thank you for this ...

I keep hearing about appointments going spare, no queues and empty vaccination centres. The only answer, in my opinion, is to open up the appointments to every adult.

Thank me later.

so I really don’t know how people younger than me are getting it?
I'm 52 and had it Friday.
Got a letter saying I could have flu jab last year (never have before) as I was in a high risk category (news to me) turned out it was because I had Glandular Fever aged 18!!
When a lady called out of the blue asking if I wanted to book a covid jab I wasn't going to say no.

The only thing I can think of is a coding error at some time in the past when paper notes were being computerised. Lots were done by people with little medical knowledge, just clerical staff. It’s not unusual with really bad glandular fever for it to affect the liver and for people to get jaundiced, it’s why people are advised to avoid contact sports until they are recovered. I wonder if someone coded you as having “liver disease” and when the search was done you came up. Just a thought.

Day 3 since Pfizer jab. I feel fine and resumed my keep fit programme after having missed out Friday, just as a precaution.

I had been waiting and waiting for the GP surgery invitation. I contacted them instead, and they came back with a choice of jab appointments.

That’s interesting. It must vary massively depending on area as our friends who live in Northern France and have worked there for 35 years and are now retired haven’t had appointments yet. Mark is 65 like Nick and Helen is a year or two younger. I will tell them, or maybe not!

I think it is very remote where they are as they have gone over to convert barns and set up a campsite, so that may be a factor. I have just been speaking to my son who lives in Folkstone and he is fluent in French. He was speaking to a mate of his over there in Dunkirk and apparently Dunkirk has had to go into a lockdown over the weekend as they have some festival where they all go to each others houses and have food then move on which the Govt cancelled however they just got on and did it and over the week the rates have started to rise in the area.

I've just checked and hubby is eligible (he's 64) but I'm not (only 57) so I'll book him in.

I had a phone call four weeks ago at 16.15 hrs asking if I could get to the surgery by 17.00 hrs that day, for my jab, asked if my wife could have the jab at the same time, and was told yes bring her in with you, both now waiting on our follow up jab in the next few weeks

According to the BBC news app it changes nationwide to 60 and over from tomorrow with letters going out.
Quite a few areas have been doing this already as they are up to speed with 64’s and over, luckily for us our area is one of them. We’re in tomorrow for the first vac.

Had OAZ jab on Friday - felt a pin prick as it went in and no other effects since - the facility was well organised and no waiting time

The only other thing if note, since the jab, my 5g signal has been amazing and my paragliding mates tell me I no longer need to carry a tracking device as they can see my movements in real time 🙂
