Is the v16 emergency light mandatory for Spain?

Not required for UK vehicles. That doesn’t mean they aren’t a good idea.

As I understand it this is designed to be magnetically fixed to the roof of the vehicle and automatically switched on when it is placed on the roof.

But my roof is GRP so it won't work, and I cannot reach up 3m to put it on the roof.

Or have I got it wrong?
I have a magnetic type and have two options .
1. I bolted a short metal bar to the bike rack to which I can fit it.
2. I have a [ shaped metal bar that I can bolt to the redundant satellite dish base accessible from my large rooflight.

For all out there who still say the same old...Won't fix to our MH as its plastic or aluminium.

Next year though.
Yep....but many Funsters raised.issues about fixing to a motorhome body that's plastic or aluminium, and it won't be long before the winter visitors start arriving..
And everyone likes to be prepared in true British Spirit....🇬🇧☀️

I'm sure the version with suction cup must be available now, they've been working on it since the beginning of this year. I've not looked for it as I'm in no hurry, next year I'll get one and for sure they'll be cheaper once they start selling thousands of them.

Or they could be more expensive in the short term as everyone rushes to buy one. I'm starting to look now for a trip out in February, cheapest I have seen so far is £41 delivered.

I carry one in each vehicle, actually I still have ones without GPS...I'm all for lighting up my van or car if I breakdown or are involved in an accident, and until the end of the year I suppose I'll need to pop out my two triangles..🇪🇦👍😄

We will probably wait until the last minute for a buy one get one free offer. 😁
We still have to carry triangles. Bob.

As much as it goes against the grain Martin, I am going to be a bit of a rebel this winter, and a bit like bobandjanie, I might just hang on for the offers.
BTW, those bleddy triangles I inherited back in 2005 but still haven't used yet, might still come in handy.

Cheers,

Jock. ;)

2 for 32.90€ from Amazon.es...

It's all a bit hit and miss, are some really expensive or they are just a rip off ,then some say modified 🤔 or approved I found some 2 for €21.66 I could probably get the same in the Chinese Bazar. 😆 Bob.

I believe the lights may be carried for years and never used, therefore buying a basic one is all that's needed.
For those of us who must comply with Spanish Traffic laws and are likely to be checked...I don't see buying one , or in my case 3 as being an issue..
Even in my Citroen car that has auto SOS call out facilities I still need one...that's the law...
I'm.more than happy to rid myself of those flimsy triangles when the time comes...

Are you sure those will be compliant next year?
Thanks for that, it appears their sales information has been changed, updated since May...they are valid for usage and approved by DGT until the end of 2025..they are therefore not legal next year.. I'll send them back to Amazon when I get home and get the approved ones..
Once again thanks for heads up..

is this worth getting
I think that's the old version. No communication. Will be no good after the end of 2025.

This is the newer version. DGT 3.0 compliance with connectivity.

I bought a different make from Amazon with the location system. Just in case etc.

Got loads of flak on a few touring in Spain/Europe FB pages in the "you don't need one if you are British" vein. Saves walking up the road with a triangle....

I have a van conversion. It will magnet on.
