I have an oldish server, no video port but has 3 USB sockets..

How can I plug in a Monitor using USB?

You can get USB monitors (search for DisplayLink) that work entirely off the USB port. Sometimes the brightness and contrast isn't great owing to the lower power but apart from in bright sunshine they usually work ok. You can also get USB -> VGA/DVI dongles that let you connect a regular monitor to a USB. I think they may well be DisplayLink under the hood but I've not used mine for a while.

Or simply buy a cheap graphics card and pop it in the server. Most at about £40 now come with hdmi as well as DVI ports. VGA cheaper still but depends what the monitor connection is.

Why not just connect over your network, its the normal way of connecting to a server. I have a NAS server no video port.

I'm trying to install new software, so it's just a one .off. No space for a graphics card
