Hi we are parked at a Brit stop (pub) the merc radio won't turn off or respond in any way. It's a 2011 sprinter. Any ideals?

does the front take off, that will have to sort it

if not try key out remote lock and unlock, bit like a computer reset. you might get lucky

worst case scenario disconnect the battery that generally works.

hammer screw driver right through the front usually works:Rofl1::Rofl1::Rofl1:

Does it stay on if you turn off the ignition and open the drivers door?

We have found the fuse board, by the bonnet real ease on the passenger side. Just got to work out which of the 40 fuses works the radio. Not helped by poor Internet and fat fingers on phones arrghh

Yes, nothing makes it stop. Can't change volume or station. Have left van all locked up whilst we eat in the pub. Been out twise still on.

switch

Hi
Have you kept your finger on the button for 5 seconds until it says switching off, thats the procedure for mine.
Hope that helps.:thumb:

just a thought....

....the radio in mine is linked to the habitation electrics not the vehicle ignition. It works regardless of whether the key is in, engine on, key turned to first position etc.

To turn it off there is a button that I have to press and hold for a while. If you just press it once, like to turn it off, it acts as a mute button, turning the sound off but the radio is still on.. lit up at least.

the fuse box you want is in the passenger side below the glovebox

The fuse box is located in the footwell on the left-hand side of the vehicle.

mbsymb6_inv_0032.png Locked

To open: unlock the quick-release fastener mbsymb6_inv_0031.png and remove the cover.

To close: fit the bottom edge of the cover and fold upwards.
The cover must engage.

fuse 10 in row F55/2......glovebox light/cigarette lighter/radio

unless of course its been rewired to the hab battery in which case the fuse could be anywhere and you need to remove the radio and unplug it.

also a contradiction in the fuse legend.......could be fuse 13 in the same row..F55/2

Thanks for all your help. We've pulled the fuse so it stopped playing heart radio. Thank god. Put it back in and it works ok now. Panic over. Oh and I recommend the lamb with mint crust and red current juis at the hare and hounds near Cirencester, it's been so stressful I'm halfway through a severely large gin and tonic. Mucho love fellow funsters.

PJ strikes again, well done John you can always be relied on to give sound advise. :thumb::thumb:
