If you have a bike that you want to get up and running again then the govt have just launched a voucher for £50 max for you to do it FOC but they are going quick, only 150,000 vouchers available and 1 per person (not per household).

Thanks Minxy just got vouchers for both my wife and me.
 
"Up to" £50 via a voucher which may cover the first hour of labour. But worth it if your bike is in need of a sizable repair.

Sorry it's England only, hubby just told me about it as it's only just been announced so I posted it quickly so those who wanted them could get them before they all go ... I'm sure there'll be a similar scheme for those in Wales who want to 'fix' their sheep soon! :rofl:
 
My hydraulic brakes have worn out the pistons in the reservoir, this could be a good job to get them replaced, thanks for the link. (y)

So if you live in Scotland but your specific bike shop is in England. Can we get one? Or is it home address based?

The £50 won't cover much....and parts have inflated by up to 50% since Brexit....I'm in the trade....and no I'm not on the scheme through choice as I don't need the work, as most of my customers are in the enthusiast in and e-bike sectors ...most in the trade are using the £50 to cover labour...so beware of parts prices ....plus more are opting out this time....There are also shortages on many parts... hydraulic brakes for mountain bikes, 9 speed bike gearing plus a lot of bike cassettes.... Hope all who get a voucher that it works out for you..... Ride Safe
