Now that I have your attention, I will explain. Having just agreed a sale of my 2017 van, I was emptying it out and making sure nothing was broken, cracked, wobbly etc (Unlike me).
And for the first time in 30 months, I noticed a nipple, that's all I can think to call it, sticking out from the bottom of the offside wing mirror. No corresponding appendage on the nearside mirror. Sorry, no pics.
Anyone know what it is?

I always thought it was part of the plastic extrusion making up the wing mirror

I thought dash temp display was taken from engine management thingy ?
From a nipple sounds much more appealing (y)

OK, thanks both. Seems an odd place to have it, too easily affected by direct sun?
Seeing as it’s on the bottom of the mirror housing, it is unlikely to be affected by direct sunlight.
It’s there to measure the ambient air temperature.

Ours has went fut
Temp reads high
I'm assuming you can't get sensor separate from mirror?

Typical ... a male see something sticking out and the first word he thinks of to describe it is a nipple ... us women folk on the other hand would call it what it is ...

a wee willy! ?
