enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
Has anyone fitted or had fitted the 'torroidal' (spare wheel) type underslung LPG tank? I am thinking of installing one to replace my gaslow system and free up a locker. I just wondered if anyone had any tips/information they could share.

Thanks

they are really meant to be used in a boot spare wheel well aren't they ? Though I have just looked to see they can be underslung in place of spare wheel.
You need to ensure that you are buying one to use that is Vapour take off & not for vehicle propulsion which is liquid take off.

A decent supplier of tanks can simply fit the appropriate multi-valve. The tanks for liquid and vapour are identical. In fact a liquid take-off multi-valve can itself be converted very easily to vapour take-off.

Our old bulk tank on the Hymer was a liquid feed off tank, which had been converted to vapour feed off. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

Gas-it do a tank intended for underbody use in the spare wheel slot. It's not cheap. 55l water capacity. Would need some protection i.e. an underbody spray.

its a motorhome specific toroidal tank, similar to the spare wheel replacement used for fuelling vehicles, only the moho specific has a vapour take off instead of the liquid take off.

i have seen them at 58 and 55 litre variants - just wondered if anyone had fitted one ?

(Kannan Fodda - they all need to be protected not just the torroidal ones)

There should be no difference between the tanks other than choosing the easiest installation. Both tank shapes use the same multi- or single-hole- valves which are a available for vapour or liquid take-off. Just pick the one that works best for space you have.
